JONAS'S POV
Life is pretty good. This year I was chosen as captain of the basketball team, no surprise to me of course. It was less of a surprise when my dad reminded me of my grades when I told him I was chosen. At least my mom is supportive. She is the rock in my family. The one that makes sure everything is perfect, and we love her for that. Lindsay, my younger five year old sister is the angel of the family. Mom and her are what keeps my dad and I's fighting at a minimum. We barely talk about my older sister, Alexis. Maybe that's a good thing, after all, dad says she tried to ruin our family. But sometimes, I still miss them.
Everyday, I get ready for school, get into the Jeep I begged my dad for, and drive Hanna, my girlfriend, and myself to school. After school is basketball, and if I don't have basketball, then I'm out with Hanna or the guys. The guys on my basketball team are my best friends. My closest friend is Ben, who I grew up bouncing a basketball around with. I usually come home for dinner, and if I'm to lazy to do my homework, I'm out with friends again. I'm pretty good with keeping up with homework, but I excel at English.
If anyone knew I loved to write, they would laugh in my face. I like to write a little every night. My English teacher has been trying to get me to write for the school for a long while. I turn her down every time.
When all the basketball guys and me get together, we like to play "the game." Hanna laughs at the concept of it, but its basically a big game of trying to upstage the other. Recently, it has taken a turn to trying to get girls numbers or earning a girls trust.
Hanna loves it when the guys break the girls trust. Which is something we argue about. I think I love her though, but I have no idea what that feels like. Ben, hates Hanna though, he loves playing "the game" but will never give the guys the pleasure of knowing when he drops a girl. I agree in that matter, and I usually make sure that the girl knows that I'm being told to break their trust, and most are cool with helping me out. Its when they aren't cool that I have to keep trying. Ben says that Hanna's love in watching other girls get crushed is terrible, and that Hanna isn't as perfect as I think she is.
When he says that, I wonder what he would say if he knew the true me. What would happen if he knew I was a closest writer? Ben is one of the only people who knows what happened with Alexis. Hanna was never in the picture when Alexis was, so only Ben and his girlfriend Sara know about it.
Sara is Ben's girlfriend. She isn't like Hanna, she's just like one of the guys. Ben adores her, and Sara adores him. Sara is one of my oldest friends along with Ben. Sara is one who will stand up towards anyone who tries to bother her. I think thats why Ben loves her so much.
Even though I live an amazing life, with amazing friends and an amazing girlfriend, my family life is starting to get rougher and rougher. Alexis has tried calling my mom more, and I can hear my mom go into her room and cry when she ignore's Alexis's call. Alexis gave up calling me a long time ago. No one acts like Alexis ever existed. At least I have basketball and writing.
