Beth's POV
My one call goes to Hayden. I knew he would be mad when he found out I was arrested, and though he knew my dad was a dealer, he didn't know that I tried to protect me dad at all costs.
"BETH!" I'm screamed at by Hayden when he learns I'm in jail.
"Listen, it was me or him, and after all, I'll be out soon it's no big deal." I say rolling my eyes. This is my first time in jail, but I know that I'll be let go soon.
"You know I can't come pick you up right? I'm at work. I'm going to have to call your Uncle." That caught me off guard.
My Uncle is one of the only shitty family members I have. I haven't seen him since my dad got fired and he told me to choose between my dad or him. My Uncle is an old basketball manager. He managed a college team. Not like I cared. When he said I had to choose between him or my dad, I chose my dad. That asshole thought that making me choose was a smart idea. I know that my dad has the worst life, but he we were their for each other when my mom died, which is something my awful Uncle wasn't.
"If you do that I swear to god—" I'm cut off by the sound of Hayden hanging up. I know Hayden's mad, but I hate when he babies me. I walk back to the holding cell, where I'm greeted by an officer.
"Beth, you are coming with me." The officer says. I cower back. It's not like I killed anyone, what else is their to figure out? Nonetheless, I follow them into a small backroom. Sitting down, I realize what this is about.
"Beth, we have had an eye on your dad for a while, is their anything you want to tell us?" The officer says. Even though my brain is screaming to tell him everything, I stand firm.
"My dad is a good man, he hasn't done anything." I say firmly. The officers eyes are screaming at me to tell him everything, and he sighs.
"Beth, you can tell me." He says with a frown.
"Nothing to tell. Is that all?" I say shaking now. I don't know how long I can keep up with this.
"Yes, here is my card, call me if you have changed your mind." He hands me his card, which I'm surprised I put into my back jean pocket. My dark red hair swings into my face as I'm stopped walking back with the officer to the holding cell.
"Her uncle is here to pick her up." The other officer says. Out of nowhere I'm greeted by the demon himself. I say nothing while he talks with the officers. I sit down waiting to be released and I can hear their conversation change from releasing me to basketball. Everyone in this area knows my uncle.
I know they are done speaking when I hear "Thank you Mr. Wilson, you have a great day!" From both officers. He grabs my arm firmly and leads me out of the door into his shiny silver car.
"Shut up and listen." he says once he starts driving. I oblige and he continues, "I stopped by you and your dad's apartment. I know he's dealing drugs, and I made a deal with him. I won't show the police officers any of the pictures of all the drugs he has as long as you are in custody of me. So as of today, I am your official guardian."
"What the fuck." I reply. "That's not fucking fair Harry."
"Watch your language Beth, and it's Uncle Harry to you. You are coming home with me and going to do what I say." I am left speechless to that one. My dad, the one I would never leave, has left ME. That really hurts.
We arrive to his house, which is basically the house I dreamed to move in with my mom and dad.
"Grab your stuff Hayden got for you, it's in the trunk." He says as he walks inside. I open the trunk, and I smile when I see Hayden grabbed my clothes, makeup, and to my surprise, a note from Noah and Hayden.
Uncle Harry looks disgusted when he looks at my clothes, which are all blacks, dark reds, and grays.
"Where do you want this crap." I say.
"You have a room, first door on the left." He says, letting the word "crap" go. I walk up the stairs to my new room, and almost laugh out loud. The room is a light purple with dark green bedsheets. Something I would never let my room at home look like. I drop my items on the bed, and Uncle Harry meets me upstairs.
"We are going to a meeting to go to your new school, and I am not letting you look like that." In his hands are a pair of plain light blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Must be his wife's. I take them from him and turn.
"Nothings wrong with my clothes." I say looking down. I'm wearing my black van's with the white stripe. My black jeans hug my legs perfectly, and the giant rips on the front, and one right under my ass on the back. I also have a cut black t-shirt that exposes parts of my stomach and back.
"You are going to fucking school, and you are going to wear what I tell you too." He says loudly. Looking straight at him now, I slam the door shut.
On the short ride to the school, I check my phone. I have two texts, none of which are from my dad. One of which is from Noah. He tells me he loves me and to call him tonight. The other is from Hayden, which I ignore. Not even worth reading. He called my uncle. He is the reason I'm here.
Walking into school behind Uncle Harry, I follow behind him as he walks through the gym where their appears to be a basketball game going. Suddenly out of no where a ball comes flying at me. Catching it, I throw it back to the boy with blond hair and striking green eyes.
"Watch is ass hole." I say as I throw it.
"Woah chill out." the boy says as he turns around back to the game. Looking up, I see Uncle Harry glaring at me, and I jog to catch up to him.
Uncle Harry walks into the office and is immediately greeted by the principal.
"Hello Mr.Wilson, it's great to meet you and your niece." He says smiling way to big.
"My name is Beth." I say coldly, and his smile vanishes.
"It's nice to meet you to, let's go somewhere private to talk about enrolling Beth, wait here Beth." He says pointing to a chair, and walks with the principal to another room.
Of course once I sit down I hear people out in the halls, the basketball game ended. From the sounds of the students wearing the "North Valley High" sweatshirts, which is the school I appear to be attending now, it looks like they won. Some of the basketball players walk by the office, including the boy with striking green eyes. His friend nods at me, and suddenly, the boy with green eyes walks into the office and sits down next to me.
"Hey, I'm Jonas." he says nodding at me.
Rolling my eyes, I reply "Okay." I am not here to impress anyone, or meet anyone new. Jonas looks surprised.
"What's your name?" he says frowning.
Sighing, I respond, "It's Beth."
