Oshenra, are world of magic. Sarts in the kingdom Varriela, deep within the forest of Enule in a village known to the Eelves as Simion.
The counselor's room with its cold stone walls absorbing the heat coming from the small fireplace, the warmth not hot enough to heat the large room of the council house so early in the morning. The village elder known as Vestares, was sitting at his desk. Vestares was writing something on a piece of paper, his face showing no expression as he scrolled his notes. Darfin, one of the Elven armies generals in command, stood to attention in front of him. A large applewood desk being the only thing separating the two Elves. Darfin's eyes looked at the old man sitting before him, the old Elf was nearing his fifth century and the years did not appear to be kind. Although to humans he may only look to be around sixty years of age, his eyes had large bags under them and lines of wrinkles running down his face, his eyes the only thing that appeared to be young by any standard. Darfin then noted the smell of smoke from the fire and scent of pine drifting in from the open window. Darfin nervously clears his throat. He had been waiting for over a minute now, Vestares appeared not to hear him. Yet another thing to show his age, Darfin thought to himself.
Certain that no answer for his summons was to be forthcoming, Darfin started to speak. Excuse me sir for being so bold, but I wish to know why you have requested to see me. Vestares peered up at Darfin through his glasses, examining the Elf in front of him. The warrior had a strong build with good structure and a height just above 6 feet, along with long hair almost white in color and blue eyes. Dam the young and their working bodies, thought Vestares to himself. A small frown now on his face. You are here because I have decided you should be. You should consider it a great honor. Darfin tried to hold his tongue and thought of what he would say. What is it you wish for me to do? Darfin questioned, not sure if he was allowed to ask.
You and a company of other Elves will take your family's along with supplies to the new settlement being built two days from here over the mountains. It will be one day to reach the mountains and another to cross over and reach the new settlement. The town is to be called Ingi. You will find some of the higher class sun Elves and artisans already there. So take the Eleven families that are on this list to Ingi, along with your family. To make the new settlement your home, you are to be ready to leave by tomorrow, is that clear? Yes Sir, Darfin said putting a fist to his heart and slightly bowing in the Elvish style solute.
Darfin then turned around and began to walk toward the entrance of the council house. With the list of Eleven families cliched firmly in his hand and walked out the council doors. He looked into the trees and took a deep breath to calm himself. Hearing the large ironwood doors slam closed behind him, he let out a sigh. Darfin new he was going to have a hard time breaking the news to the families that have been here for centuries that they were being ordered to leave by the council. Darfin looked toward the guard house and began to walk up the dirt packed street. Darfin then began to think of how he would fare bringing the news to his wife. She wouldn't be happy. Her family is one of the ten original houses that made Simion the village it was today.
As he arrived at the guard house entrance he could hear the sounds of laughter and sword practice coming from the yard behind the building, where his men were hard at work. He closed his eyes pushing open the door. He then began walking through the guard house to reach the yard. He needed to tell his troops what was happening. Over half of the guard was being sent to Ingi and the family's need to be ready to be on the move by tomorrow morning. Darfin was so lost in thought that when he looked up he was standing in front of the doors to the yard. Darfin straightens his back and put his head up high, he couldn't show any weaknesses in front of his men. He swung the door open and walked into the large yard. The sun was shining brightly across the ground, reflecting rays from the windows into his eyes. Darfin stepped into the yard fully to see his soldiers getting ready for another drill. Darfin cleared his throat to get there attention.
