Jughead's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about that blonde beauty I had come across that night. The gleam of innocence in her emerald eyes, the hue of pink that radiated from her cheeks when she blushed. Even my roommate, Toni, noticed something was up when I got home.
Really, "home" was a beat down trailer, but what came you expect from the wrong side of the tracks? Indoor pools and perfectly stable roofs? "Jones, you got a letter," Toni said as she came around the corner of the kitchen into the living room. Yes, Toni is a "she," but we are strictly best friends, nothing more.
I checked the return address, which was Riverdale's Detention Center. I quickly tossed the envelope into the trash. "Still not talking to him?" asked Toni. "No way. I want him out of my life," I replied. "That might be a little hard, I mean, he is your father," she said.
I just scoffed and said, "I'm too busy to worry about him anyway." "Busy with what?" Toni asked disbelievingly. "Don't freak out; I met a girl," I replied. "Oh, Jonesy found himself a little lady?" Toni remarked jokingly.
"Maybe," I replied dully. "What's she like?" Toni asked, interestedly. "She's a Betty. Really, that's her name. She wore this golden blonde ponytail and pink sweater and a white skirt. She was real sweet and...she was from the Northside," I described.
"Wow, you're really head over heels for this girl. But a Northsider?" responded my best friend. "Yeah, all the girls here are the same ol' same ol'. But this girl...she's something special," I said. "Well, she must be if she caught your eye. You never fall for anyone," she said.
Toni was absolutely right. I've always been one to push away anyone who made any advances towards me that didn't have the intention of only being friends. "Anyway, I think I'm gonna head to bed," I said before getting up from the couch and making my way into my room.
"Goodnight!" called Toni from the living room. I shut my door and threw my Southside Serpent Jacket to the floor. I lay there in my bed thinking about this Betty.
"I go to Pop Tate's Chock'lit Shoppe everyday afterschool," her voice ran through my head.
"Then, I will see you there," I said aloud to myself, pretending it was Betty. I let out a sigh with a smile. Here I am, Jughead Jones, teenage leader of the most notorious gang in all of Riverdale, and I'm daydreaming about a girl I had met an hour ago.
A girl with bright blonde hair and everlasting green eyes. And perfectly glossed lips that I wanted to kiss and make her mine. And I don't care what people would think about I, a Southsider, going steady with her, a Northsider. Because what I feel for her...I think it's love.
Hey guys! I decided to change the posting schedule to every Thursday instead of Sunday because I watch all the new Riverdale episodes on Thursday on The CW App (also Sunday is a weird day to update). Short chapter, I know, please don't hate me! I honestly really like this story, it's turning out a lot better than I thought it would, and you guys seem to really enjoy it, too. I hope you guys enjoyed. Thanks for reading!
