"Would you snap out of it already?" I jolted off my locker at the sound of my best friend's voice. We've been friends since first grade.

"Sorry, I can't help it." I sighed looking back at her. Her perfectly black curled hair and her gorgeous brown eyes. Her laugh and her gorgeous tan skin. She has everything I want in a girl.

Kinsley Armelle Rowan.

"Ugh, is he doing it again?" My other best friend, Maria asked. She's been my friend since first grade also. They both know me better than I know myself.

"You can never have an actual conversation with him." Arlene sighed while shaking her head.

"Well, I'm sorry, but can you blame me?" I asked, once again looking at her.

"You need to stop Ethan, you're looking like a creep." Grayson, my twin brother said, coming into the conversation. If you can really call it that, since I've been gawking at her.

"She's so out of your league." Arlene sighed. She may be right, but it doesn't hurt to try.

"I'm sorry, but there's no way you could get with her." Maria lowered my hopes. It's not that Kinsey's popular than me, because she wasn't. She was an average, smart girl. She did have a lot of friends, only because of how nice she was. She stands up for what's right and her personality is amazing.

The only thing standing in my way is, the fact that she barely knows I exist and her stupid boyfriend: Jasper.

They've been dating for two years, and they seem so happy together.

"Does anyone have the homework for Mr. Scott's Psychology class?" Gray asked. I finally decided to actually pay attention to them, and focused my eyes away from Kinsley.

"No, even if I did you still wouldn't get it." Arlene said.

"Maria?" He turned towards Maria asking her.

"Yeah, I have it." She replied.

"Oh yes! Thanks." He smiled, waiting for her to give him the sheet with all the answers on it.

"That doesn't mean I'm going to give it to you." Maria responded, crossing her arms over her chest.

Grayson groaned and then looked at me. "Ethan, do you have it?" I nodded my head as the girls looked at me.

"Can I see it?" He asked, begging for the answers.

"Sure." I grabbed my folder and gave him my paper. Maria and Arlene looked at me with their jaws dropped.

"Seriously Ethan?" Arlene exclaimed.

"What! He's my brother," I defended, as Grayson ran to his next class.

"Thanks bro!" He shouted through the halls as he disappeared. I turned around to find Kinsley coming this way, towards me.

"Oh my god! She's coming this way, what do I do?" I asked my friends as I was panicking.

"Ethan calm down, she's just walking this way so she can go to class." Maria laughed, as she saw how much of a wreck I was becoming.

"H-Hi Kinsley." I said weirdly.

"What the hell was that Ethan?!" I thought in my head. She smiled at me and waved.

"Hi Edwin!" My smile became wider and she started giving me a strange look. I kept watching her walk down the halls, until I felt them staring at me.

"Guys did you see that? She noticed me." I smiled in happiness.

"Um, no actually she noticed Edwin." Arlene replied. Maria and her started laughing as I was still in awe at how she responded to me.

"I don't care, she still acknowledged me." I shrugged my shoulders, and headed towards class. Meanwhile my two best friends kept laughing at the fact that she called me Edwin.

I rolled my eyes and continued walking to my class. We had mostly all of the same classes, I even had some with Kinsley. Score!

I sat at my assigned seat which was right next to Maria. Arlene had sat with Grayson a table away from us. I looked around trying to find Kinsley, soon seeing her, laughing quietly with her friends. I didn't realize I was staring until the teacher kept calling my name.

"Ethan!"

"Mr. Dolan!" She yelled, getting my attention.

"Uh, yes?" I quickly responded.

"Can you tell me the percentage of how much of the population believes in psychic phenomena?" Mrs. Dawn asked. Everyone started lightly chuckling, since I didn't really know the answer.

"Uh..it's..." I acted like I was actually thinking, but I only did it so she would call on someone else or move on.

"Please pay attention in my class, so we don't have the same problem." Mrs. Dawn warned.

I apologized and sat back in my seat in relief, as I didn't make that much of a fool of myself.

"Yea, I hope we don't have the same problem Edwin" Maria said, emphasizing Edwin since that's what Kinsley called me this morning.

"Whatever," I laughed, putting my hand on my face. Now Kinsley will see how much of a fool I am.

-

"Grayson! Stop eating my muffins!" Maria shouted, as I went to go sit down next to them. It was finally lunch now. The whole group consists of Arlene, Maria, Grayson, and I. No one was really are friends back then, but these two weirdos became our best friend's in an instant.

Just then I saw Kinsley and her group of friends walk in the cafeteria. I didn't realize I was daydreaming until Jasper walked up and kissed her on the cheek. I looked at the group and asked,"What does Jasper have that I don't?"

"A hot face."

"A hot bod."

"He's captain of the football team."

"Wow, thanks guys." I sarcastically said, as I started to eat my lunch. Today we were having some type of pasta. I actually like the school food, it's not that bad.

Just as I looked up from eating my food, I saw Kinsley, and we made eye contact. She started walking towards me and I started to freak out.

"Guys, Kinsley is coming over here" I said, looking back and forth at the group.

"How do I look?" I asked, my heart racing like crazy. I was running both of my hands through my hair, casually.

"You look like a freak." Arlene said. Maria laughed and agreed with Arlene.

"You just look dumb." Grayson blandly commented.

"This is why you guys are my best friends." I said sarcastically just as Kinsley came over.

"Hey!" Her sweet, soft voice said as she stopped right in front of our table.

"Hey." I calmly responded, wondering why she was over here. I wasn't mad or anything, I was actually excited.

"Um, I just wanted to say sorry for messing up your name earlier, I felt so bad, so I wanted to apologize." She said, her cheeks turning bright red.

"Oh, um it's okay, a lot of people mess up my name." I casually said, making her feel less bad about the incident.

"No one messes up the name Ethan." Maria butted in. I gave her a stern look then turned back towards Kinsley.

"Are you ready babe?" Jasper came up towards her. She nodded her head and held his hand. As she was walking away she turned back around, smiled and waved at me.
