"Hello?" Niall breathed into the receiver, glancing from me to Liam as he listened to the speaker. When the phone rang everyone had dashed to be the one to get it. I just stayed where I was, which just so happened to be right across from the phone in the living room.
"Hi, Harry." Niall whispered, and I heard both Zayn and Liam sigh. I took a deep breath and watched Niall's every movement as he listened to Harry speaking. I could hear Harry's whisper of a voice from my position across from Niall. It'd been two days since the whole incident. We'd convinced everyone outside the house that everything was okay, but in reality everything wasn't.
Trust me-I wanted to cry. I wanted so bad to just break down, but I had to keep strong. By punching Harry I had automatically involved everyone in my problems, so by not crying and pretending that Harry didn't matter to me was the perfect way to get it blow over.
But everyone was walking on eggshells around me, picking their words extra carefully. For some reason every time Niall or Zayn spoke to me they would glance over nervously at each other nervously as though they were asking each other if what they were saying was okay. I just wanted to forget without forgiving.
"Yes, yes, we still have the interview tomorrow. Well... I mean yeah, you have to come, seeing as management has no clue what's been going on..." Oh God. I groaned out loud in remembrance of the stupid interview we had booked. That had been the last thing on my mind, and looking around at the other boys I also saw dread fill their faces. How on earth are we going to go to an interview with Liam looking like that? His face was a slight shade of blue and purple, the bruise still fresh. I wasn't sure if Harrys face was as bad as his, but I would surely hope so. I'd like to say that I had a good arm.
After moments of silence Niall glanced at me, than to the boys. His lips were trembling and furrowing his brow he whispered, "Yeah, he's fine... No, I don't think that's a good idea..." My eyes widened, with realization that Harry had the nerve to ask about me.
"What'd he say?" I hissed, and Zayn and Liam began to shift in their seats. "Niall, give me the phone." Niall looked around nervously and Liam shook his head, beginning to get up from his seat. Before anyone could stop me I reached over and snatched the phone away from poor Niall. Everyone made sounds of protest as I pressed the phone to my ear. I hear Niall let out a whiney "sorry!" and than it was silent except for my heavy breathing.
"Louis?" Harry whispered. I felt this tightening feeling in my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I wasn't tough-I wasn't ready to face him yet.
"I hate you." Was all I could manage to croak out. All the boys were staring at me, and their faces were filled with concern and pity.
"I know... You should, Louis. But I'm so, so sorry."
"Sorry for what?" I spat, tears beginning to burn my eyes. "Sorry for leading me on? Or for making me feel like someone actually cared? Or maybe for making me fall for you, and then ripping my heart out? You're not sorry Harry. Because if you really cared than you would have spared me all the heartache and just stuck with Emilie." At this point I was yelling and my tears were dripping all over.
"Louis..." He began.
"Screw you." I growled. I than ended the call with a fury.
Everyone was looking at me, and it dawned on me that I had basically said out loud that I had feelings for Harry. Now all the boys knew the truth. Niall and Zayn were gaping and Liam was biting his lip. "I'm... I'm sorry, guys..."
Everyone opened their mouths to speak at the same time but before they could I stormed out of the house, avoiding further embarrassment.
