Sorry this took so long, no other reason than because I'm lazy. Lol.15,000 reads is absolutely amazing, can't thank you all enough for that. I'm updating in celebration of that & our boys win the other night! I AM SO PROUD OMG. Being a directioner really is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
(*8/5/16* ^ it still is the best thing that's ever happened to me.)"I hate you right now." Alexis hissed in my ear and I squeezed her hand tighter as if in a silent apology.
Blinding camera flashes illuminated the dark night, and next to me Alexis silently fumed. I had just picked her up from her flat, and she ignored me the entire ride to the restuarant.
We were going on a date, idea courtesy of management. Harry leaving right now looked really bad, and the only thing they could really think of was to intorduce the public to my "girlfriend".
As we were shown to the table by a nervous waitress, Alexis walked ahead with angry steps. She didn't let me pull her chair out for her, and she immediately ordered a full glass of wine.
She looked gorgeous as always, wearing a grey gress that brought out her eyes, but her face was set in a frown as she took sips of her red wine. I picked up my menu, in hopes that something on there that would make my hunger arise. Instead my stomach churned nervously.
"I'm sorry," I mumble, putting down my menu. Alexis avoided my gaze as she lifted her wine glass.
"Why'd you do it?" She whispered, before taking a sip.
"I... Had to."
"You didn't have to. You love him." The tone of voice she used as she said those words scared me. It scared me because she was right. "And don't deny it," She mumbled.
"You heard him, though. He doesn't love me." I snapped bitterly, taking a glance around to see if anyone was peeking into our conversation.
"Or he's scared." She countered, setting her wine glass down and narrowing her eyes.
"Why are you on his side anyways?!" I said, my whisper coming out harshly. Alexis made a face as she leaned forwards.
"Because he didn't drag me into this mess."
We stared at eachother for a few moments, me unsure of what exactly to say. I had dragged her into this mess, and I regretted that terribly, but I didn't exactly regret doing it. Betraying Harry like that, I mean. He did it first, as childish as that seems. And I, being the "sass masta" I am, decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
The waitor appeared again, with my water and a notepad. She nervously took our orders and kept insisting that she bring a bottle of wine for us, on the house. I declined it, but Alexis waved her hand around, accepting the bottle.
Against my warning, Alexis began to shoot back drink by drink before our order even made it to the table. "You may want to slow down," I said for the thirtieth time, and Alexis took an even bigger gulp.
"You could at least talk me, Alexis!" I sighed, and she scowled, slamming her glass down causing the red liquid to slosh around, dangerously touching the rim of her glass and threatening to spill over.
"You want me to talk? Fine. I'll talk. You made a mess of everything, you realize that? You had something good, you had someone you loved that loved you back. And you took that for granted. That's what bothers me most, not even the fact that you've managed to drag me into all of this. Stop being so selfish Louis. People make mistakes, you've had your fair share. Instead of making Harry suffer for them you should help him learn from them."
I was dumbfounded, and I stayed that way throughout the entire meal that I just picked through. I let the words sink in and I began to feel sick to my stomach, sick because of my actions. I didn't want to feel guilty, but I couldn't help but do so as I rethought over Alexis's words.
By the time I asked for the check, it was evident that Alexis had had far to much to drink. The waitress eyed her suspiciously as she handed me the check, and I realized this was going to be a problem.
"Erm, excuse me," I whispered, bringing the waitresses attention back to me. "Would you happen to have a back exit?"
Her brown eyes widened. "U-uhm, yes. W-we do."
"I supose I don't have to tell you to keep this quiet, do I?" I mumbled, nodding to Alexis, who was muttering under her breath and playing with table clothe.
"N-no. Let me just get y-your change." She quickly shuffled off to get my money, and I reached over and lifted Alexis's chin with my fingers.
"Hey, hey," I said, getting her attention. "Pull it together. We're leaving now."
She looked up with drooping eyelids. "Are we going to your house?" She slurred, smiling strangely.
"Yes," I said, standing up and reaching for her hand. She placed her hand in my mine and stood as well, doing so with an odd loss of balance.
"Are we going to play?" She purred, and I choked on the breath of air I had been taking.
"I'm sorry, what?" I coughed, just as the Waiter came back with my change.
"Follow me," She mumbled, and Alexis and I trailed behind.Sneaking out with a drunken Alexis was far easier than I had thought, and as we slid into the car I sighed with relief. Maybe my night wasn't going to end as badly as I thought.
"Hey, Lou," She sighed, tugging on her dress, and fidgeting annoyingly. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yes," I smiled, running a hand through my hair. She looked up with her bloodshot eyes and studied me for a few moments before speaking. Drunken Alexis reminded me of drunken Harry, and I didn't like it. "Spit it out," I muttered, not liking the way she was looking at me.
"Liam is way cuter than you."
