Keung's POV

The next morning after I saw Dre in the middle of my kung fu practice, I woke up and remembered today is the day we are going on a field trip to the Forbidden City. I had been there a few times before and the last I remember is when I was 12. I already know all the information so it wasn't too exciting for me. I'm sure Dre will like it. There are some intriguing information there after all.

I got up and readied myself for school. I picked up my phone and saw a text from Dre asking me how's Chenguang is doing. I told him that she's doing well. I'm really flattered that Dre is interested in her condition. He never met anybody with a brain injury before, even though perhaps he'd heard of them.

I had little knowledge of that stuff before it happened to her. I didn't think it would happen to someone that I know, especially the one that I love. I had chances to check out more stuff about brain injury during school at the library. There's a good chance she will recover. I might hear her voice again! But I also learned there's a greater chances that it may be permanently damaged, likely if it continued well into her 20's.

I pushed the thought out of my head as I grabbed my school bag and left my room.

After bidding goodbye to my parents, I walked to school. Maybe Dre will remember to wear a uniform today.

Speaking of which, something caught my eyes and I see Dre wearing normal clothes. I gotta start reminding him to wear it.

I meet up with my friends, chattering and laughing like always.

"Hey, what's up, guys?" I waved at my friends.

"Hey, Keung, what's up? Zhilan is pretty eager to look around the Forbidden City," said Liang.

"I am! Ever since I learned about that place, I've been wanting to go there," Zhilan beamed.

Third Person

Zhilan Lopez is Venezuelan-Chinese. Her mother, Ngo Kwang, is from Zhejiang and her father Joaquin, is from Caracas. Her father left Venezuela with his parents when he was only two, due to his parents liking the Chinese culture and philosophy. His parents took Chinese classes in America during college before flying back to Venezuela. Due to him growing up in China, the only language in the household was Chinese, while his parents taught him Spanish.

Joaquin met and married Ngo Kwang and had Zhilan. His parents died when Zhilan was only 8 months old.

He never learned English so his daughter took classes and taught him while she was learning. After her English is perfected at 12, her father taught her Spanish using English.

They relocated to Beijing on May 2006 when she met Liang and began dating him on April 6, 2007.

"And it'll be your first time with me," Liang said as he grabbed hold of her hand, making her blush.

Then, the sound of a whistle was heard and they turned our attention to Ms. Po.

"Alright, guys! So today, I will be in charge of the group. Once we board upon the bus, I will be roll calling and then we can get on our day. Now, I expect you guys to be on your best behavior," Ms. Po announced.

Once after the kids took their seat in the bus, with Xing sitting next to Keung, Liang sitting next to Zhilan and Cheng and Zhuang sitting across each other since there's no two empty seat left. The kids stay silent during the roll call so they can hear their name and confirm they are present.

After Ms. Po finished, the bus started moving.

"So, I've been reading more stuff about the brain development and the altering damage for someone her age," Keung began.
