I wear a mask every single day
I show that im happy even when im not
You think im pretty , it's just my low self-esteem ,
You think im sorted , leave that to my anxiety,
I wear pretty makeup,  It's to erase those memories from my mind ,
I walk alone , every single day ,
I hope maybe one day , I will find love or atleast a friend ,
But who am I kidding , I wear a mask don't I ?
I'm afraid to show myself , im afraid to let people in ,
I perhaps know too much , yet I sit there at the side , wondering in a corner ,
You told me once , for you were a friend,
Then stabbed , where there was no end,
I forgave you ,
I truly did ,
You didn't even ask your way in ,
I guess that's where your loyalty had to begin ,
Let's move on to the love i found ,
Trust me on this one ,
No one was ever around ,
One , hard enough to get over ,
Finally after counting days ,
I learned my lesson ,
What I learn , is what I become ,
What I see , is that i look at ,
And even though I may or may not be able to be the person i was ,
Perhaps I wear the mask , for the one I've become ....
