A/n: this is 2164 words!! Holy crap!! I needed to vent and I've wanted to practice with Cross and XChara for a while now. I hope I did them justice. I added a little teaser of one of the branches of one of my AU's I'm making right now at the end.

~Cross' P.O.V.~

I wandered aimlessly around the empty AU. We just killed everyone in it and I resented that fact. I've tried to understand what pleasure or power you would gain from doing this... All I got was the same question while looking for an answer.

Why?

Why hurt those so innocent and powerless?

Why kill?

EXP?

LV?

Guilty pleasure?

I couldn't understand and I don't think I can ever. I have to hide this fact as my LV rises and my thoughts remain the same around everyone in the castle.

Sure, Ink and Dream are blinded by insufficient knowledge of the balance and they refuse to be educated about it.

But that doesn't mean it's okay to hurt so many from anger of their actions or, more so, their inactions.

I sighed in thought as I entered the throne room. Error destroys this area last for unknown reasons and I've just accepted it like all the other facts that I've taught myself by observing. The faint sound of walking could be heard and I knew it was way too soon for Error to finish this fast. Someone else was here. I drew my knife while walking silently to the noise, cautious and wary. "Cross come out. I do not understand why you bother with staying here. There is no reason to stay after we have killed everyone in this AU." I flinched as Nightmare spoke, immediately putting away my knife before continuing my walking over to Nightmare. All he did was give me a disapproving gaze before speaking again. "We are going to destroy another AU while Error finishes this AU off." I tried to hide my wincing as I entered the portal into...

"Underswap?"

Why are we killing off Underswap? Error wouldn't even fathom the idea of us doing this. Much less...

I looked around for Murder, Dust, and Horror but didn't see them. We always group up before we destroy an AU...

There's only me... Is this a test of sorts?

I looked at Nightmare in confusion. "Where's everyone else?" Nightmare replied curtly, "You are destroying Underswap by yourself. I have noticed that you haven't been killing as many monsters as Killer, Dust, and Murder." My brow bones furrowed in anger of trying to make me kill so many people. "I'm not killing Underswap. Error would have my skull if I even imagined hurting Blu-" Nightmare interrupted me, "You will do as you are told. Unless you would want to be categorized as a traitor to both sides of this war." I immediately teleported to Blue's house, wanting to warn him. Blue only fought on Ink and Dream's side because if he left, the majority of his 'friends' would abandon him.

He did it out of desperation.

I talked to him every now and then when I wasn't able to wander the newly destroyed AU and Error was busy so no one would know. "Blue!" Blue ran over to me, making me lose some air from his tight hug before I pried him off. "N-Nightmare wanted me to destroy your AU... I... I don't understand why." Blue's eye lights disappeared as he let go of me. "He... wants me... dead?" I nodded and teared up. "I can't do it! I... I lost... I lost it and teleported to you... I... I'm... I'm a known traitor to both sides... oh stars... I'm safe nowhere now..." I backed up and slowly felt panic sink into me. "No! You're safe here! I'll protect you!" I shook my head furiously. "They'll only try to kill you if Error can't protect you. They can't know of the past. If they do..." I shivered at the thought.
