I heard about what happened to Zen and I teared up right away. I wiped away my tears and rushed to go make him a card. After that I found his house by looking at the last names on the mail box and handed a rose and the card to his mom. I went home and went back to sleep.
*beep beep beep beep beep* my alarm kept going and going. "CY WAKE THE HELL UP AND GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE" I heard my asshole of a dad yell from downstairs. What the fuck did I do this time? I got up, made my bed, then charged down stairs.

"What the hell is this?" My dad asked shoving a piece of paper in my face. "What is it?" I asked. "You've been failing in school Cy!". Damnit. Have I really been failing? "I better see some god damn better grades on here by next week" he demanded. I nodded shakily then walked in the kitchen. "Did you just walk away from me when I wasn't done talking to you? I don't believe I excused you from the conversation" shit... he took off his belt and slowly walked towards me. My whole body was shaking in fear. "What the fuck did I tell you about walking away when your not told to?". "Y-you told me not to do it I-I'm sorry I promise I won't do it again please" I begged. He raised the belt and before I knew it I was on the floor with my back burning so much I thought I was going to die. I screamed but he muffled it with a kitchen towel. He raised the belt again and hit me another time leaving an even bigger sting on my back. I tried screaming again but it just went on and on till my sight was starting to go blurry. The same pain over and over... till I finally passed out.

Zen's POV

I woke up to something bright shining in my eyes. It was... a lamp? Where am I? I tried to get up but my back didn't let me cause it hurt so bad. I started panicking and hyperventilating. "Zen?!ZEN CALM DOWN BABY YOUR OK IM HERE!" I heard I think my mom say then cup my cheeks. Her warm hands on my cold cheeks felt really good. What am I in? A freezer? It feels below zero degrees in here. "Mom?! Mom?!!" I asked nervously because my vision was blurry. "Yes baby I'm here don't worry son". "mom where am I?" I asked trying to look at her clearly. My vision started to come back a little. "Your in the hospital... last night... you got into an accident. You.. you were hit by a car...Im so sorry" she started to cry. "W-what's wrong with me?!! Am I gonna die?! MOM!?" She finally managed to stop crying "no baby your gonna be fine. You'll be here for a while. I have to go in a little bit and take care of the girls cause they're home alone and who knows what they could be destroying right now" she fake chuckled a little. "Will you be alright here? I can get aiko to come stay with you for a little while?" I kinda didn't want my aiko (my girlfriend) here right now she can get on my nerves a lot. *knock knock knock* somebody knocked on the door. "Come in" my mom said. "Hi I'm melik your doctor. M'am I need you to step out please" he said and looked at my mom. She waved and lipped bye then headed out the door. "So How are you feeling right now son?" The tall dark skinned man asked me. "Well obviously I'm feeling terrible. I can't even sit up much less walk" I said annoyed and worried. "Look. I promise your gonna be able to walk soon. Your back just needs some time to heal." "Is it broken?!" I asked. "No no don't worry it's just really injured and bruised. You'll be able to walk again don't worry." He replied.

We just talked things over for about an hour then the door opened. The doctor walked out and... aiko walked in. Oh god.... "ZEN OH MY GOD ARE YOU OK? I WAS SO WORRIED. I WAS PACING AROUND GOING CRAZY IM SO HAPPY YOUR ALIVE!!!!" She yelled coming over and hugging me tightly. "AAHHH" I screamed from the pain in my back. "What's wrong!!!???" She asked. "M-my b-back it hurts d-don't touch I-it please" I looked at her gasping for air. "Sorry... I'll be more careful". "Thanks. So... what's the day today?" I asked tilting my head. "Thursday" she said. "THATS WHY IM SO HUNGRY I HAVNT EATEN IN THREE DAYS" I gasped. I asked her to go get us food from the cafeteria. The doctor had given me free lunch tickets so I gave her two and told her what I wanted then she headed to the cafeteria. I looked around for my phone then saw it was on a desk next to me with flowers and chocolates and cards on the desk. I picked up the stack of cards. "From Mia and nuku, from mom, another from mom, from mom and dad, from dad, from aiko, from...... Cy?!" I mumbled. I quickly picked up the card from Cy and threw the others to the side. I looked at the flowers next to me and I saw a rose from Cy also. I picked up the rose and smelled it. It smelled actually really good. I opened the card and read it.
