Claire dashed down the stairs to answer the door. First visitor she has had since the moving truck pulled in and left two days ago. She flung open the door to see a man standing in the doorway. He was very tall, wavy dark hair that touched his shoulders, green eyes and a beautiful body. She felt herself blush as they made eye contact.
"Hello, my name is Mathew and I live in the house across the street and thought to welcome you to the neighbourhood" he said politely while extending his hand for a shake.
"Wow, well thank you so much Mathew for the kind welcome" Claire responded while shaking his hand and blushing simultaneously.
"I brought you over a casserole to stick in the microwave because I know how time consuming unpacking is " Mathew said while placing the dish in Claire's hands.
"That was very thoughtful Mathew and now I know what I will be eating tonight for supper" Claire replied grinning and flirting because it just felt right.
"Well, I better be heading back home and let you settle in Claire. Can we meet for coffee perhaps tomorrow morning? " Mathew said while smiling at her and looking nervous.
"Absolutely, how is 10:00 AM over here and I will make us any kind of coffee you would like since I have a latte and cappuccino machine," Claire replied smiling back at Mathew.
"Sounds good and I will see you in the morning ," Mathew said and walked off the porch towards his house while waving.
Claire closed the door but was peeking in the small but long vertical window beside the door watching Mathew walk across the street. He fumbled with his keys while glancing over his shoulder like he felt watched by her. He looked up and his eyes met hers and he winked. Clair ducked while giggling and headed towards the kitchen to microwave the dinner Mathew made for her.
This move was looking better all the time she thought.
