~Ireonna~
I looked at the orders of these crazy men in disbelief. I won't go into detail about what it said to do to us because that's not lady like, but I can explain the basics. First of all, it said to seek out the three girls known as Ireonna, Ingrid, and Gudrun. It explained that one of the three had a dangerous connection to Ornstein. First of all, it's really creepy that someone could know of Ingrid's... visions. I can't help but to wonder how whoever this was knew. Anyway, it then said that we'd likely be running with the Dragonborn. I want to know how this person could've possibly known that. Someone must've snitched. After that, it explained what the men were supposed to do to us. Part of that part of the order said that we were to be beaten black and bloody and brought back to their leader. I want to know who this leader is so I can kill them in the best, most twisted ways. However, I have no idea who it could be. The only indication on the orders was a little letter R written at the bottom as some sort of signature.
We quickly made our way back to the New Gnisis Corner Club to try to get any sleep we could. Needless to say, we were unable to gain any. We were immersed in both concerns and curiosity. We discussed this for the remainder of the night. Josh joined us very early in the morning. I supposed his waiting was over. We explained everything.
"It's terrifying to know that someone has basically been stalking us," I said, "How could they have known anything about Ornstein or Ingrid or-"
"They don't know that it's me," Ingrid added, "They only know that it's one of us. I would like to know how though. I want to know how they know it's any of us, and how they knew that we'd be traveling with Josh."
"Something definitely doesn't add up," Josh began, "I was waiting. Normally I can't wait when enemies are nearby."
"They weren't exactly near you," Gudrun added, "They attacked me outside in the streets."
"That explains it."
The sun was rising and we needed to set out for Solsthiem very soon. Our discussion of our attackers had to be cut short so that we could make our way to the dock. Luckily, it took only a few minutes to get there. We were greeted by a man named Captain Gjalund who was going to take us there via his ship, The Northern Maiden.
~Ingrid~
We were able to cast off very smoothly. It felt good to be on a boat heading somewhere I've never been. Hopefully whoever is out to get me can't track us to Solsthiem. If so, at least we'll have Josh to help us this time. The events of last night were so insane that I can hardly believe that they happened. My ring and Gudrun's mask, and the whole situation just can't happen. Can it? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
After a few hours of travel, I began to see the bulwark of Raven Rock. The beautiful sky and sea mad for quite the pretty picture. It's a bit difficult to believe that we came to such a beautiful painting of a place to kill someone. Then again, the ground could use some more color. It wasn't until we stepped off of the ship that I realized that. Ash was everywhere. There was no simple pure ground here... just ash. It was quite interesting to me. It was very nice to see a new place. We decided to take a walk around the city before we made our kill. The sea here was much more beautiful than the sea of Dawnstar. This sea had wonderfully large waves. My favorite part was this interesting creature that hovered around called a netch. They looked like big rocks that glowed blue above their tendrils. It was odd, but beautiful. Josh decided that he had something cool to show us on to of the bulwark.
"Guys check this out," He said as he jumped from the top and landed on one of the netch.
It was amazing. He was riding the netch above the water. It was amazing. I couldn't help but wonder how the netch floated, but my curiosity was ended when three other Netches floated beside Josh's. He motioned for us to come down and ride with him. Gudrun was a bit hesitant, but Ireonna and I went down without hesitation. Gudrun followed shortly after. It was amazing to fly over the sea of the back of such and interesting creature. I felt almost immortal as I flew over the sea. It wasn't very fast, but just floating through the gloomy sky at a slow pace was enough. I had flown on a dragon, but for some reason, I liked this. Perhaps it had something to do with my fascination of Netches or even floating. I didn't want to stop, but nighttime was near. We had to make our kill soon.
"So how do you plan on fulfilling this contract," Josh questioned.
"Maybe we could lure him out of the city," Gudrun began, "Then Ireonna could snipe his bodyguard, and I could burn him."
"That's a horrible idea! The guards would hear him scream as he burned. You should keep with your sneaky, stabby skills, Gudrun. Any other ideas?"
"I wish we didn't have to stop riding the Netches," I dreamily blurted out, "It's so wonderful."
"Maybe we don't have stop riding them," Ireonna mentioned.
"Are you suggesting," Josh questioned, "That you carry your contract on netch back? Do it!"
The idea was insane. I'm pretty sure no one in history before us had tried to carry out an assassination while riding on the back of a netch, much less done so successfully.
~Josh~
I watched as the Opal Assassins that I am supposed to be training did something incredibly stupid with my help. Somehow, I had gotten the Netch battle ready. Ingrid mounted it with her great sword in one hand. These were my closest friends, and they were dumbasses. Anyway, Gudrun and Ireonna lured the orc out of the Retching Netch and to the outside of the bulwark. From there, Ingrid slowly charged at him from the back of the netch, and for whatever reason that dumb mother fucker didn't even move he just started to scream as she impaled him. It reminded me of a strange thing that I witnessed back on my home. It was a vision of a man screaming behind beautiful scenery. For some reason it was one of the greatest things that I had ever witnessed. Somehow, I accidentally began telepathically communicating it to Gudrun. I could tell by the combination of the look on her face, the thoughts she was thinking, and her saying, "What the fuck?" She obviously wasn't prepared to see something so wonderful.
~Gudrun~
I knew that Josh was capable of communicating with me through telepathy, but I had no idea that he could send me visions. He showed me the strangest one as Ingrid killed that orc contract, and I was too distracted by the vision ((See video at the top of this chapter)) to even focus on the contract. Luckily, they were able to carry out the contract without me being mentally there. The next thing I knew, we were heading back home to Skyrim for our next kill.~Authors Note~
Okay, I realize that this is the shortest and most unimmersive chapter in this story, but to be honest that's what this story is about. The Opal Assassins is a fanfiction of many things, meme compilation, and random comedy story. As if it wasn't obvious enough, I clearly don't own the video shown in this chapter, but it is the vision that Josh showed to Gudrun. Actually, it's the YouTube video that real life Josh showed to real life Gudrun to get her to stop being depressed last night, and it worked. I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Game of Memes... *Coughs ...I mean The Tale of The Opal Assassins, and continue to read this madness as it goes on. I promise that this actually has a plot. It's not ÆON FLUX or something... It's not that perfect.
