It's the first day of school, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
I wake up around 5:30 am, I'm too anxious to go back to sleep so I decide to get up.
I change into some black sweatpants and a pink sweatshirt (it was an impulse buy after I saw Lil Xan wearing it...). I brush my teeth, put the top half of my shoulder length hair in a bun, and go downstairs to eat some breakfast.
Nothing special. I eat a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats with some banana slices on top, which pairs excellently with my daily Adderall. Delicious. Lunch ends up being some Welch's gummies and a bottle of water.

It's 6:50 already?!

I quickly slip on some sneakers and toss my backpack over my shoulder before waving goodbye to my mom and throwing myself out the door. My friends are already waiting for me on the curb.
"Jesus Christ, what took you so long??" Madison said annoyed once we started walking.
"Yeah Nora," Lily added, "you always take forever."
"Um, says you." I reply sarcastically. "Last year it took you like 10 minutes to leave your house because you couldn't find your phone when it was in your pocket."
"Can both of you shut up?" Madison finally cut in.
"Woah, chill Madison." Lily said surprised.
"Yeah, I was just kidding." I say reassuringly.
"Whatever." Madison says, looking down at her phone. "Ugh, we better hurry up or we might miss the bus."
***
We finally sit down on the bus, around the middle. We're all very awkward people and too afraid to talk to any of the other kids. I do notice a group of boys from our grade that we used to see walking to school near us last year (we all live in the same neighborhood so go figure).
There is one kid who's sitting with them who I didn't recognize though, which is weird because all the neighbors tend to know each other.
Curious, I decide to casually listen in on their conversation to see if I can find out his name.
"So Jonas, it's been how long since you changed schools?" my neighbor Drew asks him.
"Jonas." I repeat in my head. The name sounds familiar.
"I don't know man," Jonas replies chuckling, "I left around 3rd grade and this is my first year back with you guys."
Oh yeah, Jonas went to school with us before he switched after he moved. I guess he's back now? He used to live next door to me, and we were really good friends. How did I forget about that until now?
The bus starts to move so I sit up a little straighter so 1) I'm steady enough where I won't be launched into the seat in front of me 2) so I can get a better look at Jonas to make sure that it's the one I'm thinking of.
I try to be as subtle as I can while looking at Jonas' features. He's Caucasian but pretty tan, has brown hair, he's about 6'1, faint freckles on his face (probably because of the sun), and brown/hazel eyes. Jonas laughs at a joke my other neighbor Hunter makes, showing dimples in both of his cheeks.
Yep, that's Jonas.
I must've been observing him for awhile because Lily eventually punches my shoulder.
      "Ow." I say blankly.
"He's pretty cute huh." Lily says glancing over at Jonas.
"Haha, what makes you say that?" I chuckle uncomfortably.
"I mean, you've been staring at him for like 2 minutes straight." she says slyly.
"Shut up." I say snickering, punching her in the arm.
"Guys, guys," Madison says peering over the seat behind us, "violence is not the answer."
We all snicker uncontrollably and Lily and I reach over the seat to punch Madison's arm.

Ahh hello there reader. Hope you enjoy this "100% totally professional piece of literature that I definitely didn't just think of writing about 5 minutes ago". Thanks :)
