The school day ends and I meet with Madison and Lily so we can get on the bus together. We sit in the same spot as the morning, and so does the group of boys from lunch. Great.

We all took extra caution to ignore them, even to the extent of starting a fake in depth conversation about something and pretending to be extremely enveloped in it.

I did look over at the group of boys every so often, Jonas was having a really great time with them. I'm glad. I'm really happy that we had become friends again so quickly. I do remember a long time ago when Jonas would jump over the fence of my backyard, climb a tree to get to my window, and crawl through so we could play Mario Kart together. Good times.

As we approach the stop, Jonas and I look at each other for a moment, remembering what happened this morning. I point to myself and mouth "first" to him. He sassily rolls his eyes and mouths "fine" in an overly dramatic way. I giggle a little as I go back to getting my stuff together.

The bus stops and everyone except Jonas gets up at once. I get off the bus without any trouble and I say goodbye to Madison and Lily who were going to French tutoring together. I take Spanish so there's no need for me to tag along.
I wait outside until I see the tall figure that is Jonas exit the bus and walk up to me.

"My house is just around the corner and down the street." Jonas says pointing to where he was talking about.

"Okay, it's pretty close to mine then." I reply, texting my mom to let her know I was going to a friend's house.

"Actually, it's the one I lived in before I moved, so I think it's right next to yours." he says, looking down at his phone too.

"Oh, cool!" I say, surprised yet excited for the nostalgia of hanging out with Jonas again.

We get to Jonas' house, a lot nicer on the inside than the outside, which was also nice. Jonas takes his shoes off and puts them next to the door, so I do the same.

"We could go up to my room?" he suggests, looking at me for confirmation.

"Sure, just no Fortnite." I joke. We both snicker as we walk up the stairs and down the hall to his room. It's about the same size as mine since our houses have pretty much the same design.

We put our backpacks down on his bed, Jonas watches me while I scan his room. His walls are blue and covered in posters of bands and rappers. I immediately notice a pair of clout goggles on his desk and put them on. I turn to face Jonas who quickly grabs a second pair from his closet.

"Aw you look sick dood." I tell Jonas in my best surfer accent for some reason.

"Nah bro, you're lookin fly." Jonas replies in his best frat boy impression.

We both put our hoods up, remembering that we're wearing the same type of hoodie, and decide to take a picture.
Jonas balances his phone on his windowsill and puts the self-timer on. He crouches down in front of me and does the Vape Nation symbol with his hands. I stay standing with my hands on my legs doing the "ok" symbol with each hand and looking slightly up. You know, cause we're cool people.

The photo turned out extremely cringeworthy yet hilarious, which was exactly what we were looking for.

"Hey, can you text that to me?" I ask Jonas while he examines the photo.

"Sure, is it alright if I post this to Instagram too?" Jonas asks.

"Yeah, but I'm gonna do that too so your caption better be poppin boi" I joke.

"You're on." Jonas says laughing.

I give Jonas my number and he texts me the photo. I follow Jonas on Instagram and then post the photo so I can tag him in it. He did the same.

My caption: "pulling up to your funeral like"

His caption: "when mom finally cashes in yo allowance"

Both horrible in the best way.
