i ran my hand through my hair as i got out of my car. i grabbed my bag out of the passenger seat then locked my car. i put my hands in the front pocket of my sweatshirt, walking towards the front of my school.

i saw audrey sitting on the wall, like every morning.

except today, she was talking to a boy. i'm pretty sure his name was hunter, hunter rowland or something. he was sort of attractive. decently tall, and had brown hair. she waved me over and i saw hunter turn around and lick his lips.

i made my way over towards the two of them, and hunter leaned against the wall trying to look cool, which he didn't.

"hey avery." audrey said.

"hey." i said.

"so, you know hunter right?" she asked.

"uh yeah, i think we've talked once or twice before." i said and smiled at him.

"yeah, through joey, charles, or something." he said and stuck his hands in his sweatpants pockets. i nodded.

"so uh, i think gaten m was looking for you." gaten? what the heck, we legit never talk.

"why?" i asked. audrey gave me a weird look.

"i think he wanted to ask you a question." hunter said and shrugged.

"i'm not sure though." he told me.

"well, wouldn't it be sort of awkward if i just walked up to him saying 'what did you want'?" i asked. hunter shrugged.

"yeah i guess. he'll find you, eventually." he said. i nodded, agreeing with him.

i heard the bell ringing, meaning it was ten minutes until we had to get to class. audrey and hunter hopped off the wall. i saw that hunter was brushing audrey's hand more than once, and i could tell it wasn't an accident. audrey said something and i heard hunter chuckle, and looked down at her.

i could tell by the way he looked at her, he was in love with her. you know, that look couples give each other when their in love? yeh, he gave her that look.

we walked into school and i looked around. i yawned and rubbed my eyes. i was so freaking tired because i guess cameron was having nightmares or something, i don't know. i stopped at my locker and spun the dial, until my locker opened.

"oh hey, there's gaten." audrey said. i turned around and saw gaten across the hall, talking to hunter. hunger pointed at me, gaten looked at me and waved a little, but not in a friendly way. i turned around and shoved my bag in my locker. i grabbed the things i needed for my first couple periods.

"auds what do you have for first period again?" i asked. she didn't answer.

"auds?" i asked and closed my locker. gaten was standing there, leaning on the locker that was next to mine. i jumped and he laughed. i rolled my eyes and started walking down the hall. where did audrey go? i sighed and gaten caught up to me.

"so, aves" he said.

"don't call me that." i said. he grabbed my arm, pulling me to a stop.

"sorry, avery. better?" he asked.

"i guess." i said with a shrug.

"what do you need?" i asked holding my folders closer to my chest.

"i'm having a party friday night. you should come." he said. a party? at gaten matarazzos house? i've heard his parties are the best, but he's never invited me to one before, so why would he invite me to one now?
