I look at her.
I can't help but smile.
She's alright.
She's back on earth.
She's getting better, according to the doctors.
I haven't gone to school in three weeks, scared that I won't be there when Courtney wakes up.
I want to be the first face she sees.
Her parents left.
They had told me to tell Courtney they need to take care of business and to tell Courtney they love her.
Well, fuck them cause I ain't telling Courtney shit.
They don't deserve her love.
They did give me the keys to their new house.
They told me the address to take Courtney home.
I wasn't taking Courtney to her place when she woke up.
I was taking her to mine.
She was going to need help.
She was going to need someone to protect her at night.
She needed someone to tell her he loved her.
That he had fallen in love with her in so little time.
But, isn't that how love works?
