Chapter 21: Darkness and Gloom

We entered through the door and around us was total darkness - darkness that could be literally felt.

The only thing we could see was the door and any light beyond it that filtered in.

We had to  switch on the perpetual lights but as we moved further and further into this dark realm the thickness of the darkness intensified to a point it seemed to envelope the perpetual lights.

At some point I felt Eon slip her hand into mine - in my mind I was thinking, "Girls will be girls."
Here was someone more powerful than I could imagine but when this gloomy darkness covered us and she was a bit scared she turned into a normal lady.

I was starting to wonder what was going to happen and how we would find our way in the darkness because at this point we could not even see the door we had come from a few hours ago.

We heard uncle Sam and Over-watch talking and then Over-watch moved further ahead of us to a point we could no longer see her at all and uncle moved back to rejoin us but not near to us, but to Rose and they began talking.

All of a sudden we saw an incredible brilliant light ahead of us and some of us became a bit scared as we did not know how it came about. It was indeed powerful light because unlike our perpetual lights which became enveloped to the extent that we could not see - this one it's like it washed away the darkness and the material that was black became white.

Uncle and Rose came closer to us and uncle whispered, "That is the Over-watch we met on the first day we visited her planet." Uncle then added, "She can tone it down but she can also be, that!"

And just like that Over-watch made a great difference - when people were down and gloomy because of the darkness she brought the light.

We did cheer up considerably.

We also noted that we were on some sort of a wide road with what looked like skulls on pikes and skeletons lining up both sides of the road.

We continued now slightly better but still a bit apprehensive from what we could see off the road near and far and even though we had been informed by Over-watch what awaited we all thought that - really - in a place like this, more wicked things awaited us.
