I had a hard time as I said before of reconciling my waking up moments with my dreams - the dreams actually looked more real.
The words of Over-watch rang in my ears even during the moments I was awake - I had to antagonize the old dragon lady at the office.
The thought of going against my boss made my stomach turn and made me have a chill run through my back giving me goosebumps - I simply dreaded it.
What would happen to me after confronting her? Would I wake up in the dream world where I could be with Eon? Would I simply be fired?! Would I survive if I was fired? Would the dragon lady simply laugh it off and tell me to get back to work? Would I be committed to a psychiatric ward? What? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??
I did not know the outcome and there was no one to tell me the outcome but I had to do it no matter what - my mind was made up. Something in my gut told me that Over-watch was someone who could be trusted and I had to do what she says. I wonder - had I heard that from a lamb once?
That morning I dreaded reaching the office and so I woke up and dragged my feet for sometime before reaching the office. As soon as I got there I was informed the dragon lady wanted to see me in her office.
As soon as I walked into her office, the old dragon lady started shouting, "Mike! You lazy good for nothing, why are you late today? Do I pay you to be late?" I could not even get a chance to land a word in there! After her rantings she shouted, "And get out of here and get back to work immediately!"
I chickened out and walked out of the office right then and straight to my desk.
The next morning though I tripled my courage and woke up very early and got to the office early enough and as soon a she walked in, I followed right behind her, to the office.
Even though the cold sweat was trickling down my back my resolve was resolute - there was no turning back.
When she turned and saw me standing there she was out rightly pissed!
"What are you doing in my office without an invite?" She screamed.
"Well all the shouting stops today and I am not leaving your office until you hear me out," I said and then continued before she could speak again, "You have tortured me with your words since I came here and that has happened since I found myself here."
"You are constantly mean to me even when I do the right things and I do the right things like 99% of the time so the only reason for you to be this mean is that you are trying to stop me from discovering my true identity," I said then I paused.
She then asked, "And what is that?"
"That I am a great leader of a great army fighting injustice in a great war against dark powers and I don't belong to this world!" I finished and she started laughing but I looked at her in such a serious way that she stopped and I shouted, "Release me now for I am waking from this illusion and going back to my Eon!"
As soon as I shouted that I found myself waking up in a dark world and the only light source was still Over-watch and uncle Sam was at her side with the Watchers but everyone else was fast asleep on the ground as far back as we could see.
"What happened here?" I asked to which uncle Sam responded, "I don't know but we were all asleep and it was Over-watch alone who managed to wake us up."
We then heard the sounds of bones being crunched at the far backside ranks of our armies and we quickly ran there. On reaching there we found a huge green dragon and it was eating our man - despite the fact that he was being eaten the guy was still asleep. Around the dragon we saw around six sculls of guys he, or is it she, had already eaten.
She suddenly noticed us and roared, "Who dares disturb my meal!" The voice was definitely feminine and it reminded me of the dragon lady of my dreams.
We realized we had to fight this thing in order for the rest - including Rose - to wake up.
The battle lines were drawn - Over-watch, the Watchers, my uncle and myself against this mighty green dragon.
