" Look, we can't stay here, biting our nails, waiting for them to return." Nick spoke up.
" What if they do return and find none of us here? I say we wait," Maddie said.
" It's getting pretty late." Danny pointed out, reminding everyone.
" And Kate is out there. My fiance is out there, probably lost and scared, so no( he shook his head), I can't stay here, hoping she is able to find her way back, through the forest at this time of day. Sorry but I'm out." Nick stormed out after saying his piece.
" Nick, wait!" Stacey ruahed after Nick, followed by the rest.
Luckily they were able to catch up to him and when they called him again, he stopped in his tracks and turned to face them.
" I'm going to look for Kate, with or without your help." Nick declared with determination.
" You know what, you're right man(he addressed Nick), waiting will only make us more anxious. I know I can't."
" So what do you guys suggest we do?" Maddie asked.
" I say we separate, a guy and a girl." Danny suggested.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
" Are all our phones out?" Stacey asked.
Everyone began checking their phones.
" Shoot, no service." Stacey grumbled in annoyance.
"Where ever we are, lets check for network until we get something and call for help. That might be our only chance." Danny said.
" I wish Kate had taken hers." Nick mumbled to himself.
He realised that an upset Kate had stormed out of the house without her cellphone. This served as a disadvantage for them and made Nick worry more.
" As long as Anna is with her, we will find them sooner." Maddie said to Nick, making him aware that she had heard him.
" Does she have her phone with her?"
" I think so." This relieved Nick a bit.
" I'll keep on trying her cell on the way. Nick said, feeling optimistic now.
" Alright, Maddie and Nick, you guys check the cabin we saw earlier." He nodded to Nick. "Stacey and I will check on our boat."
" Will you be able to remember where you guys found the cabin?" Maddie asked Nick, who nodded.
" I believe so."
The group huddled up and wishes each other luck, before they went in different directions.
Danny and Stacey were the first to arrive at their destination. Thankfully it had been thag far now and when they arrived, they hearts dropped to their knees. Their boat was gone like it had never been there.
" Where is our boat?" Stacey asked, feeling a little panicked now.
" I have no clue, but lets keep looking."
" But----"
" Stacey, lets keep looking Alright?!" Danny said, sounding irritated.
In truth, he was both worried and scared. The boat was their only chance at freedom, apart from their phones that weren't working at the moment.
He hated feeling clueless and it troubled him to search for solutions, when there was a slim chance of even one being available.
" Anything?" Danny asked, when he reunited with Stacey.
