DARK PARADISE.

Chapter 31.

In the near distance she heard a banging sounding, before a big slam of the door. Like a dream he appeared, making her want to let out a sob.

Nick rushed over to her side, the moment he saw her. He one else beside and took her into his arms.

'' Gosh, I thought I'd never see you again," Nick said in between planting kisses all over her face.

His arms tightened around her frame, where he was overtaken by emotions.

" Nick---" Nick didn't let her finish, when he pulled back to look over her. His brows pulled together as he analysed the damage that had been done to her.

''What the- He bloody did this to you?!" He said through gritted teeth.

" I'll be okay." She tried to calm him down but he shook his head, feeling both upset and sadness over her being hurt.

" I can't believe that bastard touched you and he - no, come on. I need to get you out of here." He took her into his arms before carrying her out of the room.

" You're hurt!" She gasped, noticing the way he winced when she touched his arm..

" I'll be fine, babe." He tried to dismiss it but was met with a disapproving look from her.

" Not until I confirm it with my own eyes." She said stubbornly, earning a soft look from him.

" Lets get out of here first and then you can scold me all you want, hmm?" He said.

She nodded with a pout. Not being able to resist, he pulled het impossibly close and kissed the pout away.

" How did you find me?" She finally asked as they walked through a dimly lit passageway.

" Would you believe me if I said that it was because of our strong bond, it was impossible not to?" Her face lit up at the sound of those words.

She laid her head on his shoulder, letting his scent and warmth calm her down as they continued to walk. She felt a sense of safety once again as she was held in his arms, and they headed towards their freedom.

A sudden shove from behind Nick's back caused them both to go flying across the room. The impact caused  Nick to land ontop of Kate. A look over Nick's shoulder, had Kate's eyes widen in shock when she saw him.

" Oh no, Nick it's him. It's my f-father." It was so difficult for Kate to admit that the dangerous looking man before them, was the same man who gave life to her.

And now he had every intention to end theirs.

" Shit, I can't believe there's two." Nick mumbled, his mind working overtime.

" What?"

Seeing Dr Brown approach them, Nick quickly murmured in her ear." Run when I tell you to, okay?"

  Despite his words, she was already in panic mode.

In one motion, Nick quickly rose to his feet. The two males met halfway and while Dr Brown aimed a fist at him, Nick on the other hand took him down in a spear action. Both landed on the floor with a thud.  Taking an advantage, Nick moved into a kneeling position and landed punch after punch, while calling out to his girlfriend, who caught through her exhaustion to stand on her feet.

"Kate, go now!"

"No, I am not leaving here without you, lets go!" She argued.

" Kate, you need to leave, I'll catch up with you!"

" I'm not going anywhere without you. Nick please, lets go!"

Nick took a quick glance her way, meaning to say something but his face was met with a fist to his face. The distraction was enough for Dr Brown to reach to his side for a knife, that Nick failed to notice and stab him in his side.
