Adam pushed his hands further into his pockets, shivering. He heard a slam and a groan and looked down the alley he was walking past.
"Hello?" He called. No response. He walked down the alley and listened quietly. He heard a scrape behind the garbage can and looked behind it, seeing a small body pressed to the brick wall, shaking. "You okay?" He asked. "Uh huh," the person said in a small voice.
"You need somewhere to stay?" Adam asked. "N-no. I'm fine here," he said. "C'mon, I have an extra room," Adam said and the person cralwd put from behind the garbage can, looking up at Adam.
They were curled into the fetal position, naked and shaking. "Here, have my jacket," adam said, draping it around their shoulders. "B-but then you'll b-be cold," they argued. "Not as cold as you'll be. Follow me, c'mon," he said, taking the other mans hand.
They tried to pull back but he gripped them tighter. "I won't hurt you," Adam insisted, leading him to the house. "W-where do I sleep?" He asked. "I have a guest room across the hall from the bathroom. Do you want some tea?" Adam asked. "O-okay," the said, sitting hesitantly on the couch.
"So what's your name?" Adam asked. "T-Tommy Joe," he said. "I'm Adam. Do you want to take a shower when you finish your tea?" He asked and Tommy nodded.
"I'll get you some clothes," he said and tommy nodded again, taking a sip of the tea.
Adam came back and handed him the clothes, hanging his jacket up. "That room is the bathroom and that one is obviously your room," Adam said, pointing to the two rooms. Tommy nodded and walked into the bathroom, turning on the water.
He stepped in and sighed, letting the warm water relax his tense body. He looked at Adams razor and shook his head, looking away. "Three months, Tommy. Three. Months. Do not screw this up now," he muttered and washed his hair and body, rinsed off, and dryed off, putting the clothes on.
He stepped out and walked into the room, turning the light on. "Why were you naked in an alley?" Adam asked. Tommy jumped in suprise and laid on the bed, looking at Adam. "Why did you take me into your house when I could have a disease or possibly kill you in your sleep?" Tommy asked. "Atleast if you killed me I would know you did it when you were content and warm," Adam smiled.
"If I was planning on killing you, that just ruined the whole thing," Tommy said. "What do you mean by disease? Like, mental or STD?" Adam asked. "Well I did an STD test yesterday -I had nothing else to do- and I could have a mental disease. You never know," Tommy whispered. "I'll take my chances," Adam said and Tommy nodded. "But why were you in an alley naked?" Adam asked.
"I won't tell you until I trust you," Tommy stated. "Trust like friend or trust like boyfriend?" Adam asked quietly, leaning over Tommy.
Tommy's breath caught in his throat and Adam chuckled, backing away. "That's what I thought," he said and walked out the room, turning off the light and shutting the door.
Tommy shook his head, getting comfortable. "I hate you," he mumbled and closed his eyes, slowly falling asleep.
