Chapter 6 - Outta Sight

Crap. I mentally cursed. Quickly, creating just enough alcohol for the open wound on my calf, I disinfected it while biting my lips, preventing a cry of pain from leaving my throat. It felt as if a hundred needles was mercilessly jabbing my calf as I sterilized it.

I, then, fixed my torn suit as I created a layer of bandage around the wound. I stood up with the help of my hands and good leg while wincing at the stinging pain of each movement. 

I eyed my calf as I convinced myself that it would be fine as long as I don't get involved in any rigorous activities. After reassuring myself, I turned my attention to the gigantic hole in the ground.

I put on my best act and forced myself to walk as if there was no pain striking my leg every time it lands on the ground. I looked over and found Lida still staring at the hole with widened and fascinated eyes. I, as quickly as I could, made it over to Lida.

Once I was beside Lida, curiosity took over me as I took a peek in the hole. I saw that part of Izuku's body was fried and had turned charcoal black and that he was collapsed on the ground.

What the f*ck happened?! I stared at him for a good few seconds before looking for any signs of Katsuki.

At the very corner, almost unnoticeable, I spotted puffy, blonde hair. It was definitely Katsuki, no one else had puffy, blonde hair. Did he win?

I wanted to go down there to congratulate Katsuki or at least confirm that he has won but then, I remember my leg. There's no way to get down there other than using the stairs but Lida and I suppose to guard the bomb just in case.

I turned to the bomb.

The time was just about up. 6 seconds left. Just a little more.

"Team D, Bakugou-Kun, Lida-Kun and L/N-San, have successfully defended the bomb. Congratulations." A voice from the loudspeaker announced. 

The person then gave us instructions to leave the demo building. 

I wobbled every few steps I take as I walked beside Lida, out of the building. Luckily, Lida didn't notice anything. 

Lida was carrying, the still unconscious, Ochaco and I was thankful that he volunteered to do so. I don't think my leg would be able to hold up while I carry anyone or anything heavy. Ochaco should be waking up in the next 10 to 15 minutes.

Lida and I had a small chat as we walked. We were talking about food, more precisely: our favorite food. 

"F/F!" I energetically punched the air. "It's absolutely del--" I stepped on a rock when I was too excited about the conversation and didn't pay attention to my surroundings.

I fell flat on my stomach. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Owwwwwwwieee..." I mumbled as I sat up. "Kyahk!" I hissed as I felt the pain in my right calf.

"Are you okay, Y/N?!" Lida asked with the most serious and worried face that I have ever seen. He looked like he wanted to help me up but both his hands were already occupied with 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Mama Tenya? I mentally laughed at the thought. But I mostly felt guilt. I'm being a burden again.

I quickly stood up as quick as I possibly could. I winced at the pain which felt like a hot poker being pressed into my skin.

I was pretty sure that the wound opened again and is bleeding it's life out by now.

"Yes, I'm fine! It's just a small fall." Not really. I plastered a smile on my face but I felt my brows twitching a little. I used my quirk again and quickly fixed myself up.

Lida nodded his head then continued walking beside me and we continued chatting. He would occasionally ask about my well-being whenever he notices me wobble a little. I would answer that I was 'fine' to keep him from worrying.

I thought back to my own thoughts. 'I'm being a burden again'...'again'.What's with the 'again' part? I feel like I'm missing or forgetting something... Aish! Whatever.

We walked for around 10 minutes and we arrived in the viewing room to watch the other teams brawl.

We entered the room to find Tsuyu, Mineta, Tokoyami, Hagakure, Eijiro, Denki and some others standing in front of the screens in the dark room.
