Chapter 3

I started assessing each and every student facing me as I stood in front of the school assembly. This morning, I had the faculty call for a mandatory assembly to introduce the new authority in school. Me.

I tapped the mic in front of me to make sure it's working properly.

"Good morning. I am Danielle Anika Rayburn Fujimoto, and I will be the new person in charge in this institution." I started.

Murmurs from the students and some instructors filled the gymnasium and I can feel their calculating stares pointed directly at me.

"Settle down. Now, I know you must be thinking, why me? Let me answer that for you. This institution is owned by the Rayburn family, my family. And I was given the task to manage and oversee Rayburn International. You may think that this is not an easy task and should not be given to a mere highschool student such as myself, but I have been trained for this all my life and you can be rest assured that I will be doing my very best for this institution."

Approving nods and murmurs of admiration filled my surroundings. I looked around the gymnasium and sighed.

"Nakarating sa akin ang mga balitang nagkalat daw ang mga bullies at mga barumbado dito. I've heard of violent acts against fellow students, and even against the instructors. And let me tell you, I don't like it one bit. Rayburn International will not tolerate acts of bullying and violence. I don't care about your status. I don't care who your parents are. I don't care about your connections. Everyone involved in such activities will answer to me and to the faculty."

I closed my eyes and sighed. Alright. Almost done with this speech.

"I hope everyone understands that this is not a threat. This is a promise and I intend to follow through." I smiled at them and proceeded to dismiss them back to their respective classes.

Tsaka lang ako nakapag-relax at nakahinga ng maluwag nang nakita kong kami na lang ng mga kaibigan ko ang natitira sa gymnasium. The assembly didn't even last for an hour pero pakiramdam ko ay halos kalahating araw na akong nakatayo sa harap nila. Still, nairaos ko rin ang introduction na iyon. The wheels have started moving and I am on my way to fixing this school.

Matapos kong magpahinga ng kaunti ay niyaya na kami nila Blake na pumunta sa sarili naming klase. I might be the new person in charge here, but I still gotta study. I'm in my final year of highschool at mas kailangan kong pag-igihan kahit papaano. Mula sa main campus ay sumakay na kami sa sari-sarili naming mga sasakyan at sinundan ang pagmamaneho ni Blake patungo sa hiwalay na building kung saan daw ang klase namin.

Pag-aari man ng pamilya namin ang school na ito, amidano akong wala akong masyadong alam tungkol sa pasikot-sikot dito. Blake knows so much more. From the ins and outs of the school up to how to run it. Kung tutuusin, siya dapat ang maging overseer at tigapagmana nito ngayon dahil siya ang firstborn male ng mga Rayburn. But as I've mentioned before, Blake is a free spirit. Ayaw niyang pamahalaan ang Rayburn International. Kaya naman sa akin ang bagsak ng trabahong dapat ay kanya. Peste kasi eh.

Nang narating namin ang building namin, isa-isa kaming nagpark sa underground parking nito at bumaba na rin sa kanya-kanya naming mga sasakyan. Blake and his friends led us to the elevator big enough to for all of twelve of us. Isa-isa naming nilibot ang mga levels ng building na ito.

 According to Blake and his friends, this is what they call the Rayburn International's Elite Building. Bakit? Dahil tanging ang mga School Executives, SA Class at ang kanilang mga instructors lang ang may access sa building na ito. Kailangan pa ng access card para makapasok sa building na ito at magamit ang mga facilities dito. We were lucky enough to have gotten our access cards over the weekend. Kung hindi, ay magiging trespassers at akyat-bahay gang ang dating namin ngayon.
