EPISODE 10- Getting Closer

Connor drove to the office that day, he had been on leave since his partner died, but since he had been at home, he wasn't at rest, he wanted to get justice for his partner's death. He was determined and had been following up on news about the boy who killed his partner, although his pregnant wife told him to leave it, he told her he agreed but went begin her back to get information about the whereabouts of the boy, he needed to get some things from the office. As he entered the office.

"Hey Connor, how you doing thought you were on leave", one of his coworkers asked.

Connor walked to his desk, " yea just came to get a few things ", he opens up his drawer and picks up two guns, " I gotta go, idris", he said.

"See you around Connor", Idris replied.

Connor walked to his car, not his police car of course, he had decided to do this without putting the law into it, he opened up his boot, " inside were bullets and then he closed it, entered the car and drove off.

Ken woke up, he had slept for almost a day or so, he remembered his previous events, it was pretty hazy but it could make sense of it. He stood up and looked around, he was in his room, well before the event and Crest started hunting him and his son luckily his wife wasn't one of them and his daughter well...was dead. He saw some of the pictures of them as a family, one of the pictures which made him laugh was that of the whole family together on a picnic, he remembered that day, his daughter pushed him into the pool, he was so happy, they were happy together but everything's changed now.

"You're awake", a female voice said.

Ken turned around and saw his wife at the door, "oh Tina, I was just.."

"Don't bother, just get dressed and come downstairs, Amar's waiting, we need to talk", she leaves.

"Right ", ken replied nodding.

Half an hour later, he came downstairs where his wife, Tina and Amar sat down.

"The beast has awoken", Amar said.

" Took you time ", Tina said.

Ken sat down on one of the chairs, " so what do I need to know".

"You know that since after your leave, Crest has been keeping an eye on me since but due to an agreement I have with one of their top staff, they have stopped... "

"What kind of agreement", ken asked.

" None of your business ", Tina replied harshly, Amar looked at both of them, this was not going well. " Just listen to what I have to say, please", ken nodded. "They don't know you are here because they have stopped watching me, but almost two to three weeks before, he invited me to his office and asked if you contacted me, I told him no, which later resulted to an argument but on my way out, I bumped into a lady, as I helped her pick up her card, I saw her badge, she was an F.B.I, now before you start talking, I know it's not much of a surprise but are you in any trouble, is there any problem?"

"Well, not any that concerns you", ken replied.

Amar saw that Tina was about to say something and it probably would be harsh, so he intervened, "enough you two, your son and the rest of the kids you work for are probably in some place we don't know now, so pls get it together", both calmed themselves, " now Tina ", can you continue".

Tina sighed, " well, I've been following up updates on Crest, I know they took the kids, my son, you are careless but seems they escaped about the same day I came for you, Amar? ".

" Well I tried tracking them, seems they are very far", Amar said, "but I was also able to get a beep on the boy we've been looking for, I know where he is, seems the cops are after this boy too, if Roderick escaped with the children, then I'm sure he'll try to get to you let's just help this boy before he gets killed".

" Okay Amar, will you just excuse us for a moment, we need to talk ", Ken requested. Amar leaves the room very happy he wasn't going to be listening and he wasn't gong to eavesdrop but...

Ken moved to  Tina, " listen, I know it's all my fault and all, I couldn't protect my family, couldn't protect my daughter, couldn't protect my son and I even left you, but I'm sorry even if I had a reason, I shouldn't have left, I'm very sorry but please don't let me make that same mistake again, if you are still angry at me, I cannot focus, so please i ask of you, are we okay?

Tina sighed, "alright, I'm not mad at you but it doesn't mean you're forgiven".

"Well, I can work with that", Ken replied.

" Now go do what you do best", Tina replied as she tapped him on the cheek.

Amar enters the room with a bag hanging on his shoulders and asked, "you ready homeboy?.

Ken walked up to him and replied, " who you calling boy? And he pulled the bag off him, "I'm carrying the bags now".

" ken", Tina called, he looked back and she threw something at him, "for your quest". Ken caught it in his palms and opened up, it was a pack of play cards, he waved it at her as both of them got out of the house.

Guys, hey thanks for reading, I know some of you have noticed that the chapters are not as long as my usual, I've decided to be writing them like that so as to publish more often and I pray you all will vote for me in the awards when it comes, thank you very much.
