More cycles have passed.
He continues to keep silent track in the back of his processor of the amount of time that has passed since the war has officially ended, and his imprisonment in the shadowzone began. He has since put Laserbeak into stasis lock to reserve what little energon they have left, and if worse comes to worse, he would have no problem giving his reserves for his last minicon.
Through his silent times in the shadowzone, he has decided to linger around the Autobots and the construction of their homeworld after his little laugh with the warrior and medic- noticing the population increase as word of Optimus's sacrifice continues to spread throughout the stars and cybertronians return to help rebuild their world.
Because of the Prime's sacrifice, Cybertron was now flourishing again with new life and fresh new energon lines. Maybe not the way Soundwave would have wanted, but at least some semblance of peace was restored.
But with nothing else to do but observed from the shadowzone, what more could he do then to keep tabs on Starscream via the connection to his comm. link? He would for sure have no problem trying to stir up any sort of trouble with his deceptive nature.
And while Soundwave is still understandably put off by the disreguard Megatron had for the Decepticon forces and himself, he couldn't abandon the respect for his past leader. They fought side by side for eons- they weren't brother in arms, but could come quite close. And he was the only one whom Megatron respected to a great deal after years of war.
He couldn't help but find himself wanting to protect the peace that Megatron somewhat gave to them all as well. And by his nature Starscream would do something to disrupt it no doubt.
But after a few weeks, or keeping the connection of his comm. link and open tabs on him, Soundwave lost the signal.
Starscream had left the galaxy.
He had left this galaxy, that is.
There was no way to confirm he didn't just return back to the milky way galaxy and target Earth and the humans out of spite.
But that was of no interest to the purple mech. As long as he wasn't doing anything to mess with Megatron's last actions of disbanding the Decepticons here on Cybertron, he'll be fine.
...he thinks.
"You know what's interesting?" He suddenly heard from behind him.
Whirling around, he spots two familiar cybertronians: Red Alert and Airraid- whom he had thought had perished eons ago- walking his way, arms filled with materials.
"So, didja hear?" Airraid began.
"About what?"
"About Ratchet going back to Earth,"
Red Alert looked at Airraid in surprise and shock- most likely not expecting that.
"What for? I thought he was going to help fix up Cybertron with us?"
The two cybertronians passed by Soundwaves invisible form, along with one of Airraid's materials phasing through his body.
"He said he plans to keep watch over the planet he was last on, Earth I think it was, to make sure any rouge Decepticons don't invade it and cause havoc," Airraid explains.
Intrigued, Soundwave follows behind them.
"Then shouldn't he bring some back up to station a base on that planet?" Redalert asked- only for Airraid to shake his head.
"No- he doesn't want to station any base on that planet. He said he didn't want to make Earth a sort of place where Autobots can just come and go- better if there weren't any cybertronians there at all he said. He did say he would contact us if he was having trouble there thought and that we could just send back up via the spacebridge,"
Redalert made a sound of acknowledgement before they continued to walk into a half-built tower.
"Will the spacebridge even be in working condition until then? I doubt anyone will really take care of it. Redalert noted as they continued into a room before placing their supplies down.
"Well, lets hope someone steps up to the task or we may just face another war against some rouges," Airraid commented before they began to work in silence as they sorted their materials.
The medic was going to return to Earth? Even after he expressed his distaste in the planets natives? Well this certainly came as a surprise to the TIC considering he thought the Autobots would leave Earth alone once back to Cybertron.
But the fact remained that there was a high possibility of cybertronians going to Earth- more specifically, Decepticons and any rouges that may be out there due to the lingering marks of the war on Earth, as well as the well remaining energon deposits that remain uncapped by either faction. And if that were to happen...
This will unwind all the work that has already been done up to this point. They may even conquer Earth and start another war on that planet.
Megatron's words would have then been for naught.
....
For the mech he pledged his loyalties, his work, his loyalties to, he was at least willing to do this last thing for him.
For his old comrade since before the war.
....
He made up his mind and couldn't believe it.
He was going back to Earth - whether he was welcomed or not.
But first...
He stared down at his chest compartment, watching the way Laserbeaks purple energon lining glowed bright before going dim. He gently raised a servo and brushed his thing digits across the minicons back.
He needs to find a way to leave the shadowzone. Not only to return to Earth, but for his and Laserbeaks own survival.
And this is where I stop for now. I'll see you all in the next 2 years 😈🙏
