"Leo!" Alexander called out from the end of the hall. The smaller of the two, Leo, shoving away her English and History text books into her locker in exchange for her backpack. She turned to look, only to see him gliding through the light hallway traffic with ease. Everyone moving over for the angry 5'7 young male. Hello's and Hey Alex!'s called out but met with empty responses as hey locked eyes with her.
Leo just smirked. The girl all too relaxed from a special sweet treat she had eaten at lunch. She had intentions of walking away from her spot and simply ignoring him to head off to their constant class, yearbook. Yet for some reason her feet didn't move until he could reach her and grab her shoulder.
"Why the fuck did you destroy my spread?" He asked, irritated and upset.
Leo raised an eyebrow, pretending she had not a clue of what he was speaking of.
"Don't." His gray eyes narrowed, bringing attention to how red his face had gotten underneath his freckles. "You deliberately destroyed my entire spread. Why?" The redness brought Leo's attention to the tips of Alexander's ears, which made her laugh, but silently. More of an influx of inhaling and exhaling.
"I fucking despise you sometimes." He hissed. "Now I'm getting yelled at because you can't fucking be mature and ruined my entire spread." His eyes has only gotten darker, almost black now. This was all usually alarming, but it didn't matter because Leo was getting hungry and tired.

"I don't regret the day I put gum on his seat." Leo laughed quietly, kicking Leo feet to spin her in her swivel chair. "I thought that was hilarious."
"Eliana Isabella!" Savannah squeaked, laughing and overcome with joy with whatever floated into her mind.
"Yes?" Leo quipped, tapping away at the game on her phone, the tip of her tongue poking out from between her lips in concentration.
Skipping class wasn't something different for Leo, it was just a larger constant her senior year. So it was no surprise that Leo was once again in Mr Rodriguez's classroom instead of her 5th period class during his prep. Almost everyone excluding Matt-Tyler, Emily, and Alexander was present, as the others were late to the impromptu meeting per usual.
But just as usual, whenever Leo was engaging in conversation out loud, it was like the boys knew she was speaking and wanted to witness themselves. And as they ran in the door, Leo scoffed and opened her dry blue erase marker.
Anyways... what were you gonna say Sav?
scrawled across the small tiny board that Leo held up towards the girl she was having conversation with.

"Nothing I'll ask ya later." She spit out quickly, to fast to change the subject. The look Savannah shot to Leo told a lot of what they were talking about, and a lot of what was going to be said. But at the same time  it told very little.

After Alexander's outburst in the hall that morning, Leo eventually snuck out of each class to end up in the yearbook classroom. The small girl going through the ups and downs of eating an edible, and continuing to subtly snack on another when she felt her high falling.
It wasn't until 5th period things crumbled quickly. The fire alarm began to shrill through the halls and kids began to flood the hallways, laughing as this was expected. Someone got high in the bathrooms and there was just enough smoke. It happened every year on this day. But the shrill was something that could completely knock you off your feet, especially in Leo's condition.
When the noise of the alarm began, it set Leo off into a state of paranoia and fear. It set Leo into panic mode. Instead of doing the normal thing and exiting the building, Leo ran to Mr. Rodiguez's classroom. She grabbed her backpack and Alexander's arm, since he was grabbing his things and his class was exiting.

"What do you want?" He groaned, looking at Leo as if she were like a small child. "You here to tell me this is your fault?"
Leo just shrugged, looking at Alexander with something other than hate for once. Something that Alexander couldn't make out as he led her to the field to line up with the class, and that Leo refused to acknowledge.

———————present day———————
"Alexander! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out after class?" Emily asked, her voice sugary sweet and higher than usual.
Alexander shook his head and smiled a bit. "Oh, I have to pick up my sister and take her to dance practice.." his eyes looking just past Emily and at Leo. "Sorry. Not today."
Leo's facial expression was blank. Instead, she looked down to focus on scribbling something out for Savannah.

2018. I say we pop his tire.

"We?" Savannah laughed as Leo wiped the small board.

Ok fine. Me. Or I'll crash into his car?

"Eliana Zandigo! No!" Savannah squeaked, snatching the board away from the older girl. She began to quickly erase everything so that it wouldn't be pressed further.
Of course this had drawn the attention of everyone else in the classroom, including Mr. Rodriguez, but it was short lived as Leo just shrugged and smiled in response.

"Are you high?" Savannah whispered, crossing her arms after sliding the board back to Leo.
All Leo did in response was let out a small laugh and shake her head.
The first laugh that the class had heard together. Most of the class' first time ever hearing noise emitted from Leo.
Oh how it drove Alexander wild inside. How it made home in his brain, the sweet sound of her laugh. For the rest of his day, he'd focus on remembering every second of the moments leading up to the sweet sound, and how she smiled after as if it was a completely normal thing from her.
Little did he know, it's because she imagined his car, squished up against a pole or another car.
