Chapter 5
____________

We walked into the gorgeous mansion with his arm wrapped around my waist and smiles on our faces. No doubt, we look like a happy couple who were deeply in love. It's as if it was a dream come true, but with only a catch to it.

"Leonardo! It's true, you actually made it!" A blonde girl, who looks about my age, comes running out of nowhere and throws her arms around my "boyfriend." As she removes herself from Leonardo, her face instantly becomes recognizable as that one famous French mixed Italian model, Laina Bianchi.

"Laina, looking beautiful as ever. What do you want from me?" Leonardo sweats with a nervous smile.

She chuckles out of nowhere and grabs both of Leonardo's arms to pull him closer to her. "You rarely ever attend parties, particularly these. What's up?"

"That was what I wanted to mention to you about. I got a girlfriend." He removes himself from her grip and turns over towards me.

I stare back at him in confusion as my quick guess was to introduce myself to her. "Ella Marlowe, nice to meet you," I give her my hand as another guess of what formal people usually do. In reality, I'm just trying to keep it casual as if I were a big-time celebrity like everyone else here. Especially in front of one of the greatest model that appears in a bunch of Victoria Secret runways.

Under her seemingly graceful smile, I can see disgust and hatred along with her response, "Laina Bianchi." Yet, I'm questioning what she's despising me for.

"I like your last name." God, I want to smack myself at this point! This was not how I wanted my first impression to be with her at all.

"Thanks, I like yours too." She holds her smile and plays along. Her eyes averted away from mines and heads toward Leonardo's face instead. "Leo, I never knew you would ever be able to settle down with such a decent girl!"

"I never expected it either." Leonardo gives the fakest smile as he averts his eyes toward me.

"I'm actually quite hungry now," She says as she looks down at her rose gold Rolex. "Would you like to join me?"

"I'm actually waiting for my other buddies to arrive, so you can go ahead without me."

"Oh, I see. I'll see you there then." Laina waves goodbye and walks away as Leonardo does the same. After Laina leaves, an atmosphere of awkwardness occurs between me and Leonardo, along with a heavy feeling of stares arrowing at our direction.

Despite the stares, I continue to carry the confidence to ask him the question that I held during the duration of the conversation. "How do you know her?"

"How does that concern you?" He replies to me with his arms crossed and one eyebrow up.

"I mean we might as well start a conversation than stand around with silence between us."

"Isn't it obvious? Celebrities meet other celebrities. Now I'd rather end this conversation and keep a silence between us because it's not like we need to know about each other's lives."

"But as girlfriend and boyfriend, don't we need to know about each other's lives?" I smirk at him.

"It's not like we are actually datin–" Leonardo immediately gets cut off and looks in the direction of three guys walking towards us.
