Authers note:
Hi guys, this is my first book so any constructive criticism would be greatly received. I don't really know how this is going to go so your honest opinions would be really helpful.
Walls contains some strong language that some people may find offensive (if that is you then don't bother to read any further). You have been warned!
I hope you enjoy Walls, I'm already getting way too exited writing it, but as I said this is my first book so please bare with me on this. Also thank you to my editor River_Lethe for being such a great inspiration for my character Abby Brooks and just for generally being amazing.
Thank you, and again I hope you enjoy!

Prologue
Ray
I slammed the door behind me; could this day get any worse! I swear the world hates me, but then again I don't blame it, I'm yet to meet someone who doesn't hate me. Even I hate me.
"Oh what the fuck do you want" I muttered under my breath as the telephone began to ring. It has got to be the most annoying sound ever. I am so not in the mood for this, today has just pissed me off and because of that I may or may not have back chatted my boss and got fired.
What an ass.
I took a deep breath as I picked up the phone, running my free hand through my messy blonde hair. "Hello" I said in what I thought was a relatively nice, calm voice... for me.
"Hello, is this the Galvan residence?"
"Yes"
"And who may I be speaking to?" Christ this man was so formal, he was pissing me off already.
"I'm Ray Galvan"
"Mr Henry Galvan and Mrs Anna Galvan's son?" I closed my eyes and took another deep breath.
"Yes, Henry Galvan is my farther " I answered again. I just wanted to go to bed and carry on feeling sorry for myself before I had to face the music for being fired.
"I'm sorry to inform you" and just like that I forgot how to breathe. No. Please no. Suddenly I wasn't in my kitchen.
I was back in that room. My dad was next to me, I felt small and useless as I sat there unable to understand what the problem was, I just wanted my mummy. "I'm sorry to inform you" the solemn faced man began.
The kitchen came back into focus around me and I saw my step sister Summer, standing in the doorway, a concerned look on her face. I glared at her and continued trying to control my breathing. I didn't need help, especially not from an 11 year old.
"Can you repeat that please?" I asked the man, surprisingly not caring about the hitch in my voice. I heard a sigh down the phone.
"Mr and Mrs Galvan have been involved in a car accident..."
"Are they alright?" I interrupted.
"Mrs Galvan has sustained some serious injuries but she is stable at the momen..."
"And my Dad?"
There was a pause where I could only hear my own breathing. "He has sustained some more serious head injuries but we are doing all we can."
"Which hospital?" My heart was hammering in my chest, not again, please, not again. I could feel the panic rising and fought to stay composed. I could not cry, I would not cry.
"St Margaret's"
"When will I be able to see them?"
"I'm sorry but you will have to speak to the doctors that are dealing with their treatment to find that out..." I hung up on him, without even a "thanks".
"Summer, Mat, we need to go now" I yelled, trying to hide the fear in my voice, I'd have to tell them on the way. God, I hate kids, I hate having to be responsible.
"But..."
"Don't even go there" I rolled my eyes as they both shrank back at the threat. "Move".
