“You know, I have to say, I'm surprised at how civilized you guys can act when there are girls around. I didn't think they'd have that effect on all of you, but man was I wrong.” Souji smirked at his companions. “Well, enough of me wasting time.” He rubbed his chin and thought for a second before picking out the next player. “Sanosuke, what about you, are you ready to play?”
“As ready as I'll ever be I guess. I'm not really sure how I'm going to pick one girl above the others though.” With a little sigh, he pushed himself onto his feet and walked over to the large group of females. “Just as I thought, this isn't going to be easy.” After a few seconds of looking, his eyes locked on yours and a smile appeared on his face. “How about you then? You don't seem timid about playing.” Sanosuke offered you his hand and helped you navigate your way out of the crowd.
“Thank you, and yes, I would love to play.” Even though it was no longer necessary, you clung tightly to his hand. “I've never done anything like this before. It sounds like it should be fun though.”
Immediately catching on to your over zealous nature, Sanosuke nodded and tried not to laugh. “It does, doesn't it? Let's get going and find out, shall we?” He led you into the spacious storage room and offered you a seat. Once you were seated, he sat down across from you and waited for you to speak. Just as he'd expected, this didn't take long.
You placed your hands on your knees and slowly swayed from side to side. “So, you and your friends seem pretty strong, and serious too. Is it always like that, or are they really acting differently because there are girls here?”
“That's a tough question to answer. I guess it really depends on the day and how things have been going.” He chuckled. “I'll tell you this though, Souji was right about them being more behaved than usual. Our bunch can be a pretty rowdy one when they want to be.” Sanosuke leaned back a bit with a highly entertained look on his face. Though he'd just met you, he seemed completely comfortable with you. “Just be glad no one's brought out the sake. We might have a few problems on our hands if alcohol were to be thrown in the mix.”
“I can imagine.” You'd been slowly scooting closer to him since the very second he'd sat down. You had hoped that between his eyes being shut, and your swaying motion he wouldn't notice. “Does that happen a lot? Fights and stuff I mean.”
“No, not so much.” He shook his head, opened his eyes and stared at you, both confused, and very amused. “Might I ask what you're doing?”
“Doing? I'm not doing anything.” You let out a nervous laugh. Your plan had been foiled before you'd even gotten close enough to touch him. “I'm just sitting here with you, having a nice, normal conversation about nothing at all.”
“Oh, well I must have misunderstood your desire to be near me then. Please, do accept my apologies and forget I said anything.” His voice sounded so completely sincere, you couldn't tell if he was just trying to tease you, or if he was honestly sorry for making assumptions. “Now, what were we talking about again?”
Eyes wide, you leaned forward and hoped he was talking about the same thing you were thinking about. “W-what, why did you think I wanted to be near you?”
“I thought you might want to play the game after all. I should have known that a nice young lady like you would never stoop so low.” He offered an apologetic bow. “Again, I'm sorry.”
“N-no, I'd stoop that low, I mean, it's not that low to stoop any way. Actually, it's not stooping at all.” You knew what you wanted to say, but the words just weren't coming out at all right. “What I'm trying to say, at least I think anyway, is that I would play this game, and I'd like to.”
“Ah, I see.” He smiled. “Well, we're running short on time now, I doubt we'd actually be able to play.”
Much more desperate than you wanted to admit, you inched closer to him and almost begged. “We could do a little something.”
“That is true, I suppose. I don't want others to think ill of you though, so just one little kiss.” Sanosuke rested his hand on your cheek, and placed a single, gently kiss on your lips.
The moment he ended the kiss, you were on your feet squealing like a child. “I got a kiss. My very first kiss.” Too excited to contain yourself, you ran out of the room, and out of the building, still giggling and squealing.
“Man, you really know how to make a girl happy don't you?” Souji slapped Sanosuke on the back and laughed. “Who'd have thought?”
