Chapter 4

Sitting obediently in Xavier's room wasn't something to look forward to.

Sitting obediently in Xavier's room while his werewolf friends and Bethany surrounded me was a lot worse.

Let me just give you a brief description of what had been going on for the past two days I'd stayed in here. I was practically locked up in his room, Xavier's temper got shorter by the minute and we were starting to develope that love/hate relationship that doesn't always end too well for couples and now his little possy and persistent little ex girlfriend were trying to kick me out. Bastards.

"She's not a werewolf so she has no right to be Luna." said Bethany, looking at me with disgust.

Returning that same look back at her, I stared into Xavier's confused eyes. He looked completely stressed out. What was this whole Luna business, anyway? I didn't want to become anything. I just wanted to be by Xavier's side right now.

"You have no say in this, Bethany." Xavier snarled.

"Every pack member has a say in this." said a man next to Bethany. If they were talking about me, why couldn't I have a say in this?

"I want to have a say in this, too." I barely whispered. I had a right to, didn't I?

Bethany smirked at me and snorted before saying, "You can't. Who knows what would happen if we listened to some insane girl who came back from a mental hospital?" Xavier growled menacingly at Bethany causing her to seal her lips.

"Don't you dare talk about my mate that way!" he exclaimed, his eyes turning to a dark shade of blue.

"Excuse me?" I asked with an attitude. He had no right to call me his 'mate' unless I approved. I still wasn't even sure what it really meant. What kind of relationship did these 'mates' have anyway? I trusted Xavier with my life on everything pretty much, mostly because I saw him in a wolf form and can't really say that he's a liar after that, but I was still completely left out in the blue about the mates, mating process or whatever he kept mumbling about. If I was going to be someones mate, shouldn't I know what it is to be someones mate?

I was soon captured by his melting stare across the room. His eyes showed deep love every time he looked at me, a look I'm sure I reflected back to him. I heard Bethany scoff and I ripped my gaze away from him, glaring daggers to her. I swear, if looks could only kill everything would be so much easier.

The room was silent after a while and seeing how awkward everyone was I started to feel slightly uncomfortable. I slowly got up from Xavier's bed, the tension in the air increasing with my every movement. Before I knew it I was sitting back on his bed with his muscular body towering me.

"Don't move." He instructed before returning to the place he was standing in earlier.

I opened my mouth to argue but was silenced at the presence of a tall, frightful looking man. Xavier stood closer to him and that's when I saw the resemblance. They held the same eye color and their faces looked much a like. Xavier almost looked like his mini-me.

So, that must've been his father?

Even though he did look slightly menacing his young beauty was something worth staring at. His eyes shone brightly in the light and the small smile that was slowly beginning to widen across his face was friendly and welcoming.
