Rae Richie is a girl, in an all boys world, with her four brothers, in a house, with one bathroom.
She makes it through with her best friend Jenny, who manages to take the stress out of her life. But her other best friend, Austin - you guessed it- is a boy, who puts that good old boyish humour she is fairly used to.
On her birthday, the whole family is there, to celebrate her last birthday before heading off to college, but a massive bomb is dropped on her life. In all her life, she never thought she would be put into a situation like this. She had a twin sister all of a sudden, who got given up at birth.
With this on her shoulders, graduation, and the pressure of winning the biggest dance competition in the country, one needs to go. So, on her graduation day, she heads off - with a few friends- to go track down her long- lost twin.
