Taehyung pressed his lips together into a thin line before he began to speak. "You have amnesia, to be specific selective amnesia." He began as Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, but continued to listen. "This happened after the car accident, in which your mother died though on that day you were in the vehicle as well."
This came to a shock to Jungkook, he had no remembrance of being in that car that day. His dainty fingers ran through his hair, thinking back. It did make more sense, considering when his mother died he was also injured but why did he forget this? Is what Taehyung is saying true?
"You forget all that because the event was traumatizing to you, of course. All you did after your mother died was cried completely erasing everything else that happened before in your life. You also erased me." Taehyung finished, but he felt tears prick his eyes. He finally did it, he told him. It felt like a relief but some part of him felt slightly anxious. He knew this will take time for the younger to process, probably even believe.
The ravenette's lips parted as he gazed into the older's eyes briefly before glancing at the floor. "Then what were we?" He gritted his teeth. "What else did I forget? Has everything up to now just been a lie-?"
Taehyung looked at him sympathetically, he had the urge to reach out and hold him in his arms like he used to. He didn't know if what he did was right, is maybe the younger was better not knowing this. Yet, he was selfish and he was going to get Taehyung back. Every little ounce of him craved him, wanting Jungkook to be with him. Taehyung ruffled his hair, gently. "It's okay."
The ravenette took a sharp breath, as he felt Taehyung's fingers tangle with his hair. He could feel his heart racing again. Shooting his gaze back up, he lightly shoved the male's hand away. "You know what-" He finally got a grip of himself. "I need to put my life back together."
"You figure that out just now-"
"Shut it." The younger snapped. "I'm messed up, okay?"
Taehyung felt the edges of his lips curl up slightly as he took a step closer making Jungkook look into his eyes. The older found his hazy dark brown eyes beautiful, as it was framed with those eyelashes. "Yeah I know that."
Jungkook felt nervous with their sudden closeness. "Can you not-"
Taehyung moved in a little, so the ravenette could feel his hot breath on his lips. "Can I not what?"
"Taehyung-" He was cut off with a pair of plump lips softly pressing onto his. It was short and sweet, but for that very moment Jungkook felt as if he had forgotten everything. As his heart that was once ice, started melting. He could feel it, feel how much Taehyung loved him and that nervousness that was once overwhelming him started dissipating away with the simple touch of his lips.
"Taehyung-" He repeated his name, as the older pulled away, still staring intensely at Jungkook.
"What?"
"Thank you."
"Thank you for what?" Taehyung raised his eyebrow, cocking his head a little.
"For making me realise something." He bit his bottom lip. "Even if I don't remember much of what he had together, I can still feel how much I would've loved you. I still do-"
Taehyung's facial expression soften as his words.
"Thank you for making me realise how much how I need to fix my life." He continued. "If my mom ever saw me like this-" He chuckled a little. "She would beat my ass with a slipper."
"You don't need to thank me for anything-" The dirty blonde reached out to grab Jungkook's hand softly, opening it up. "In fact, I need to give you something back."
His other hand reached for the back of his neck, Jungkook immediately noticing the chain that was hidden under his black shirt. He revealed the white crescent he found in his room, a few days before. The younger furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Isn't this yours-?"
Taehyung shaked his head. "I kind of lied." An uneasy smile appeared on his face. "But this is your mother's"
"Why do you have it?" He questioned, as Taehyung placed the now fixed necklace into his palm. Jungkook found himself admiring it, how perfect it was. He gulped, reminded of his mother. It felt so much like her, as if this was the sort of thing she would get. It had that sense of familiarity.
"She gave it to me, to give it to you." Taehyung said. "On our wedding day-"
Jungkook's eyes shot back to the younger as he lightly slapped his arm. "M-marriage?"
"Yes of course. She thought we both looked good together, and I agree." A cheeky smirk spread across his face.
Jungkook blushed. "Hell no-"
"Hell yes."
"You're too much." Jungkook looked away, as his cheeks were tinted a rosy pink.
"You're too cute." The blonde replied, then proceeded to wrap an arm around his waist. "So why don't you save the necklace until that day."
Jungkook huffed at the male. "God I hate you-"
"But just a second ago you loved me-" Tae pouted.
"Pft- I take it back." The ravenette replied.
"You wouldn't-" Tae sighed dramatically.
"But I just did."
The older pulled him close, pecking his lips setting Jungkook off guard. "Admit it-"
"Alright fine, I love you."
