Keith kept Pidge close. Her body temperature was dramatically low. Her skin had become even paler, a glossy, Icy whiteness to it. Pidge's hair dropped below his arms, her hair was greasy. He began to notice scars. At first they started at her neck, they were faint but he could see them. He looked around unsure of where to bring her. All he knew was he had to get her out of her own room.
She lay there, the memory of her nightmare made her squirm. His hood fell down, Galra ears showing. The sight sent her into a panic, he made a feudal effort to keep her from alerting the other paladins he was there.
"Pidge, please. I'm not here to hurt you." He spoke softly. 'Please calm down. If the others wake up I'm screwed'
She let out a small whimper. Keith wandered until he reached his old room, and went inside. She looked around, settled back down and looked back up at Keith.
'He could have just left me alone, the team would be better off without me anyway.'
"Matt told me you weren't acting yourself, the fight and all..." he trailed off setting the small girl down on the bed. She made an effort to get back up and walk away.
Keith growled, picked her up, sat down and laid her down. He set her head in his lap so if she tried to stand again, he could gently push her down again.
"He couldn't just keep his mouth shut, could he?" The words fell off her tongue so easily it scared him. Her tone was emotionless, cold almost. Her words stung.
"Why, what did he ever do to hurt you. He's just trying to help you." Keith looked down at her, moving her bangs out of her eyes. They may be dull but sight is better then being blind.
She let out a low growl.
"I didn't have to come! I could have just stayed at the blade!" He raised his voice, his point had hit to far from home. His eyes flickered yellow, his anger getting the better of him.
Pidge shot up, a whimper escaping her mouth. Keith felt something slap his face. Ignoring it he pushed her back down.
"Why didn't you then?" She looked up at him, the question at least seemed to have some emotion behind it.
