I grabbed a handful of soil.
I touched it.
I could feel something.
I quickly realized I was sprawled out on the ground..Surrounded by blood tainted grass.
I had a big sweatshirt around my waist.
It was too tight.
I unraveled it. Blood started flowing down the hill.
Corn woke up quickly. She spit blood out of her mouth.
She shook her head, her eyes barely open.
"Why in the world is there blood in my mouth?!" She growled.
She had a fist ready, I guess searching for Tiffany.
As she passed me, I made a loud scccreech.
She looked back, confused, checking behind rocks. She walked back over to me, crying once again. She kneeled next to me,
"I wish you were here."
"You meant more to me, than anyone I could ever know."
As she wrapped an arm around me, I gave her a tiny hug.
When I did that, she jumped up in fright.
"AUGH!"
She poked my arm with a stick. I held still, until she kicked me. I jumped up as fast as I could.
I could feel myself getting numb.
"LIZ?" She cried, with her hand over her mouth.
She started shaking, and crying.
"Okay, Corn. Stop seeing fake things-"
"Oh, no you're not." I smiled, attempting to get up.
She saw the blood trail. She quickly tied the sweatshirt again, this time tighter.
"AHH" I squealed, in pain.
"You're losing blood!" She cried, waving her hand in front of her mouth.
She ran around in circles. Eventually, Kalyn woke up.
"Corn, go to sleep. We have to flee tomorrow-"
Corn stood up in front of Kalyn,
"I'm not going."
"I second that." I said, In the corner, holding the sweatshirt sleeve in my hand.
Kalyn turned her head, freaked out. "Who was that- "ME!" I screamed, waving my hand.
"God, y'all are stupid."
Kalyn hurried over, "ELIZABETH!"
"If you call me that one more time-"
She pressed against the sweatshirt.
Corn objected, "Kalyn, don't press on it."
"If it unravels, she'll lose all her blood"
Kalyn backed up.
The woozy effect faded after a quick bit; I actually felt..ALIVE.
We sat in the corner, all emotional and worried, until daylight.
