Logan sits next to Rory.
"Well, hello Logan. What are you doing sitting here and not at the bar, drowning yourself in scotch?" Rory asked.
Logan chuckles a bit, "Well, you see... I'm supposed to be with my girlfriend here. Now that you are supposedly my future wife. And with how hot you look in that red dress of yours, every man in here is staring at you." He answers.
"Hmm... That's interesting, we only just meet yet you think I will fall for your charms and flirts." Rory says taking a sip of her martini and giving him a small glance to see a smug look on his face. Rory slightly smirks to herself.
They continue to have some small talk and laughing, not knowing the elders are watching with glee.
Rory and Logan had a very long conversation and lasted through the rest of the party. They ended up exchanging numbers, and Logan called the next day to set up a date. They had fun, and started to grow feelings for each other.
It wasn't until 5 days before Christmas, their families were pushing for an engagement. It was getting stressful. Yet, they were actually kinda wanting to get married, but not sure if the other is on the same page.
When Rory talked to her mom on the phone on time in a cafe, she didn't know that a blonde girl was listening to their conversation.
The blonde texted her mom:
Mom, at cafe de coffee. Rory is talking to her mom about her relationship with Logan
She got an immediate response:
Okay, what are they talking about? Marriage?
Honor listens in to hear more of the conversation...
"Mom, I do love him. I do, it's just- I mean.... with all the pressure, I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do. Especially now. I completed my piece and handed it in. My boss rejected it. I quit, and have no job. I'm looking for a new job right now. And well, a wedding right now is not what I can do. It's too much stress." Rory says.
Honor quickly texts her mom:
Yes and no, she is looking for a new job as her boss rejected her article and she quit. She doesn't want the stress of a wedding, but she loves him.
Her phone beeps with a response:
I will talk to Mitchum, please keep me informed with new information, please.
Honor texts back:
Will do.
She turns off her phone, and tries to get more info but Rory wasn't on the phone anymore. Her head was in her hands. Her phone rings.
"Hello?" Rory says not so happily.
"Ah, now is that how you greet your boyfriend?"
"Oh, hi Logan." Rory says a bit happier.
Logan chuckles into the phone.
"Listen, I know your in a rough patch. But the offer still stands."
"Logan, you know I can't accept the job at HPG. I'm getting my job on my own merit not by my boyfriend, now I will see you at the apartment?"
"I know, but we would be a powerful duo. But I understand you want to do it on your own merit, but if you change your mind... you will have a job here always. Oh, I gotta go. Meeting in 5, I'll see you at the apartment... I'll be there say,... 6? Well, I gotta go, love you."
"Alright, I'll see you at 6. Love you too, bye." Rory says then hangs up the phone.
Honor texts her mom about all that she just heard. Time for phase four: to get them engaged.
