Rory was not very excited about Saturday, not at all, she had to meet her "future sister-in-law and mother-in-law" apparently. Plus, both her grandmothers will be there. What a wonderful trap.
Rory arrived at the Hayden Mansion. She found her grandmothers, Shira and Honor having a conversation over some wine.
"Rory! I'm so glad you could join us!" Emily said as she got up to give her granddaughter a hug.
"Hi grandma, grandma Francine, Shira, and Honor I believe?" Rory greeted and wanted to make sure she got it.
"Hi Rory. I'm Honor, Logan's sister." Honor says with a smile, Rory and Honor shake hands.
"So, Rory. Tell us about yourself." Shira said.
"Okay. Well, I am a journalist. I might write a book soon or go back to school for law, but I'm going to see where journalism takes me. I love books, reading is what I did a lot of growing up. Um... I went to Chiliton for high school, and I was valedictorian. I graduated from Yale, I was editor in chief on the Yale Daily News in my 3rd year. I love coffee, my mom and I are like best friends. I can quote many books and movies. I grew up in and out of society, I lived mainly with my parents in Stars Hollow, which is a few miles away from Hartford. Now, I have my own apartment in New York where I work as a journalist intern at the New York Times. I think that's about it..." Rory says.
Shira and Honor were slightly shocked, the girl sitting in front of them was perfect. She was smart and knew the newspaper business, she went to great schools too. They were impressed.
"Wow, that's impressive." Honor says.
"Well, I wouldn't say impressive. I call it life." Rory says with a small giggle. The elders, Shira, and Honor were smiling and sharing a small laugh too.
The next day....
Rory got a phone call from Shira.
"Hello Rory. I was wondering if you would like to come to a party that we are hosting."
"Well, when is it?"
"It's this Thursday. Will you come?"
"Sure, I'm free all day Thursday."
"Oh that's wonderful. Honor will come to you on Wednesday to help pick an outfit. See you soon! Bye Rory."
"Bye Shira."
End if call
Well what a wonderful evening this is.
Wednesday came fast and Rory was a bit nervous. When Honor came knocking followed by five dresses on a rack and a dress designer.
