September to November

The trees show beautiful autumn colors, this is the season when we first met. She was holding the brown teddy bear as she looks at me. I know she has something to say, but I ignored it. I went out to play with the falling leaves and pretend that I was happy. She was watching me and I knew that she wants to play with me. I went to her offered my hand and we played together under the trees. I can't forget how happy I was.

This is the same day. I was looking at the same spot where we used to play together as a child. I noticed myself smiling as I try to recall those memories. It was four years ago when I felt the most painful feeling in the world. The feeling of losing my best friend.

As I recall the memories, I saw someone walked towards me, from the spot where we used to feel comfortable. His eyes are burning and his manly features made me so comfortable. I feel safe. He looked at me as he pass by. I watched him disappear from a distance. That was the first time it happened. As I think of what just happened, the clouds starts to dim and the rain starts to fall. I watched the sky cry. As time passes I found myself laying down on my bed. Staring at the blank space of my ceiling. It was weird that I can't take off that image inside my brain. His eyes are familiar. I released a big sigh as I think about it.

I was wasting my time watching the emptiness of the ceiling. I heard a knock at my door.

I opened it and I saw Ms. Katherine smiling at me with her welcoming eyes. I just don't know what she needs but I think she needs something from me. It's unusual for her to knock at my door this kind of hour. I let her in and I invited her to sit down. It was awkward for me to talk, so I decided to be quite. She broke the awkward silence surrounding us.

"Ciara, you are 18 now and I'm thinking to make you study in a university and live alone at my apartment in the city." she said with smile on her face.

I was shocked when she said that. I don't know what's gonna happen to me. I'm not used to going out alone. I am not even familiar with the city at all. I was thinking inside my head on what's gonna happen to me. I can see her lips move but I can't hear anything at all.

"Ciara are you okay with it?" she said with all the concern on her face.

I woke up from daydreaming after she calls my name once again.

"yes . I agree." I ended up agreeing on what she said to me. She smiled at me as she embraced me tight. I smiled back as a sign of respect.

She went out of my room, but the presence that she left is still there. I can't imagine myself studying in a university in the city. I turned off the light making myself ready to sleep.

I lie down and the image appears again. The image that can make my nightmares go away. I closed my eyes comfortably. I can hear the noise of the night as I drown myself to sleep.
