confession • yeong-gi

(Spoiler alert!) I know he has Alyssa but we all know that Shin-ae is more bae and our boi Nol will most likely fall for her anyway lmaooo

After a stressful day, you go get a burger and fries with Yeong-gi. You originally planned to go with Maya and Rika, but they still have cram school to attend, and also have ulterior motives.

"Why not go with Yeong-gi?"
"Yeah! And make some redhead babies!"

Ugh.

You still wanted that burger and fries combo, and since they were discounted today, you don't want to miss the opportunity. You think about the people that you could bring. Dieter? No, he has club activities. Kousuke? Nah, Q-Tip doesn't eat "unrefined" food. Soushi? Ah, I don't even have his number, and besides, Soushi needs to study math. You then texted Yeong-gi if he wants to go, and he agreed to see you after class by your school gate.

Seeing you by the school gate after class, he calls your name. He then walks to greet you with a smile.

You feel as if your heart stopped, and start to notice the blood rushing up to your face. Flustered but determined not to show it, you walk up to him, grinning back with such jaw-clenching intensity that made him snort.

"Ready to scarf down some major meaty goodness?" he asked.

"Yeah! I didn't have an afternoon snack to prepare my stomach!" you reply, patting your tummy proudly.

While walking to the burger place, you notice Yeong-gi being a bit more quiet than usual. Once in a while, you steal a glance at him, and he looks like he's been thinking about something.

Probably a problem with Q-Tip and the company.

You soon arrive at the place, squeeze through the crowd successfully, and place an order. You both sit on an unoccupied table, huffing.

"Thank God there's still a free table." you exhaled.

Yeong-gi looked at you, fanning himself with a hand. Realizing it was too hot, he loosens his necktie and undoes the top two buttons on his school uniform.

Wiping the sweat off your brow, your eyes found their way to his exposed collarbones. You immediately feel hotter than ever, as if you were in molten lava. You proceed to fan yourself with your hands more vigorously.

Your order finally came, and as thought, food looks and tastes better when sold at a lower price. You soon finish, with Yeong-gi closely following. After, you both go out of the burger place and recollect on the food. Yeong-gi still had business with Soushi, and his house can be passed on the way to your apartment, so you both walk together.

You walk faster than him, so he is behind you. After small talk, he suddenly turns quiet. Thinking he might be too stuffed to talk much, you walked on.

"Shin-ae."

You turn around, and find him looking to the side. The two of you have stopped on a small bridge, and the setting sun was reflected on the small stream running below. You look at his face, and its seems as if the sunset had painted on his cheeks.

Wait. Is he blushing?
What, no. It's just the sunset.
Get your sight corrected, Shin-ae.

"What?" you ask.

Yeong-gi keeps his gaze on the small golden stream below. He hesitates, pressing his lips together in a shaky line.

What's he up to?
Is he gonna conf-AHHH WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OF, SHIN-AE!

Your heartbeat suddenly races, and you swallow a small lump forming in your throat.

It's just nothing, right?
Why am I so nervous right now?

You find yourself looking down, resting your gaze on his feet.

His feet move forward, making you look up, and find Yeong-gi reaching out to hold your face, so close to you, and you can see his lovely green irises clearly.

ACK! SNAP OUT OF IT, SHIN-AEEE!

"Shin-ae." he repeats.

You just stand there, eyes frozen on his, and heartbeat so fast, making you feel faint. Yeong-gi clenches his jaw, mustering up courage. He then slowly opens his mouth to speak.

"I like you, Shin-ae." he says, moving down to kiss your cheek softly.

Wha-

Your face turns bright red, and tears start to form in your eyes.

So this is what it's like to like someone.
I like Yeong-gi, too.

"Y-Yeong-gi..." you shakily start.

He pulls you to a hug, and tears run down your cheeks.

"I l-like you too..." you mumble against his chest.

Yeong-gi pushes you a bit to wipe your tear-stained cheeks with his thumbs and looks at you tenderly. Him knowing that you like him back has left him utterly speechless, but with a big smile on his face.

He kisses your tears away, and you both laugh at the tenderness as the stars start to appear in the sky.

After being sweet and sugary, he calls Soushi up.

"Hey, Soushi, I just confessed to Shin-ae!" he happily says with a boyish smile, as loud cheering can be heard over the line.
