chapter 3

"What the fuck dude ?" Angel whisper yelled as soon as I entered the kitchen.
"Before you start anything this is my friend from highschool she's here to 'catch up' so don't make a scene" and before she could speak I added "now if you don't mind I left my guest alone. Feel free to join us"

I went back to the living room to see ruby playing with her phone

"Hey, wanna help set the table ?" Ruby looked up from her phone and smirked

"I would love to..." I rolled my eyes at that and walked back to the kitchen with her on my heels.

"Wow, not bad at all " I turned to find her inspecting the kitchen

I giggled "I'll show you around after dinner " she just smiled at that and held the plates I handed her to place on the table.

"So what's up with your sister ?" I bent down to the oven to check on the pasta and the smell hit me like a breath of air on the morning of a spring day giving me the feeling of home.

"What do you mean ?" I asked placing the mold in the middle of the table. And turning to look at her with a playful look.

She smirked before she wondered "maybe it wasn't a bad idea to come here after all". I just smiled feeling a bit of excitement at the memory of the old days.

"it smells good..." I turned to see angel walking in the kitchen.

"I was about to call you, come sit " after we all settled at the table angel facing rube and me on their opposite. Angel decided to break the silence while I served the food in the plates.

" we haven't been introduced properly " angel said with that innocent smile of hers and I rolled my eyes, "what's your name" she asked taking a bite.

And before I could say anything ruby spoke "hey, I'm ruby ".

as soon as she ended her sentnce, angel choked on her food, and I never struggled to hold a laughter in my life like I did that moment. And I saw the The smirk on Ruby's face and the amusement in her eyes.

" YOU'RE A GIRL ??"  And for the first time in so long angel spoke without thinking.

Ruby just giggled "damn, what gave it ! Was it the name or the voice ?" She answered with a playful gaze and angel just cleared her throght and smiled, before shoving another spoon full of pasta in her mouth.

"This is really delicious" ruby said and I smiled proudly.

"It's my grandmother's recipe, I don't cook a lot unlike angel. You definitely need to taste the food she makes. " I turned to angel and smiled at her she returned it and looked at ruby when she spoke.

"I guess now I have to ! If angel doesn't mind of course..." With that angel just smiled and nodded than looked back at her plate. To say I've never seen angel hesitant like that won't give this moment it's worth, but I really never seen her so quite. It's true ruby has an intimidating aura and the way she looks at you makes you believe she's staring right threw you, but angel met a lot of people like ruby and no one ever effected her this way.

"Yeah and now that you moved back here you could keep each other company. Now that I'm leaving and all..." I whispered the last part loud enough so that ruby could hear it.

"You didn't mention that you're leaving ? " ruby questioned her eyebrows raised in confusion.

"I didn't ? Oh silly me, yeah I'm moving to Europe I got a promotion at work and now I get to see the country I always dreamed of visiting..." I said dreamingly

Ruby giggled before she congratulated me and we finished dinner talking about random stuff with angel just throwing a word or two every now and than.

"Let me help you with the dishes " Ruby offered standing from her seat, no it's fine I'll do them later it's time for desert, you have to taste Angel's mousse au chocolat*  and maybe a walk in town after that ?" I asked

"Sure I would like that" and with that angel helped me take the desert to the living room and Ruby followed.

"So where did you found her ?" Angel asked me when we settled.

"At Andy's library she's the daughter of her best friend" I answered taking a spoon full of chocolate mousse to my mouth.

"Oh, have you been using the Library and poor andy to hunt all those people..? " angel said with a smirk

"Haha very funny ! Have you considered comedy as a part time job?" I said annoyed.

"What do you mean ?" Ruby asked suddenly interested.

"Oh nothing it's just that now that I'm leaving angel is looking for a roommate..."

"Uhuuh, you mean you're looking for a roommate for me !" Angel said irritated

"And yeah no one seems interested yet ! And I wonder why ?" I gave a angel a wary look and she just brushed it off ignoring me.

I turned to ruby and noticed she was staring at me with a smirk, i raised an eyebrow questioning her and she shook her head smirk still on her face I just smiled and than I knew I won.
