Three days later I woke up to my animal friend, Nina, screaming at me to get up as people were approaching. I jumped up with my bow and arrow aimed in the direction Nina had said they were coming from. The trees and bushes rustled until the Queens second in command approached.
"The Queen demands your presence. It's an emergency." She stated
It didn't take me long to grab my dark green cloak and my quiver, before rushing just paces behind her. Running towards the palace in urgency.Once we arrived I bowed in respect, rising to listen to what the Queen has to say.
"My little creek. You've been so strong and it's been a pleasure to train you as one of my own, but you must travel with my beloved Diana and help stop the end of the world. You must help stop Steppenwolf." She demanded. I hadn't even noticed Diana standing to the side. I jumped with glee at seeing her and ran to give her a hug. She hugged me back and giggled.
"I missed you too, but I need you to come back with me. I'm putting a team together, but I need you for after the battle to repair the damage. We must leave now." Diana stated grabbing my hand and tugging me towards some type of plane. I stopped in my tracks, causing Diana to turn around in confusion. I gave her a small smile, and whistled. My whistle carried throughout the whole island as I waited looking to the tallest tree. Nina heard my call, flying towards me. I waited patiently until she landed on my right shoulder. I looked around me one last time, sad to leave the place I've called home for two years. Turning around I earned a laugh from Diana as we continued our trek to the plane.The whole way back she had told me that a man named Bruce Wayne, aka. Batman, wanted to get a team together to stop Steppenwolf from destroying earth. With me just nodding, and petting Nina.
Diana gave me a change of clothes which was a black crop top with a green flannel t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and green converse so I could blend in.
~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~~Once we arrived, Diana led me inside a building and Nina left us when we headed into the huge cave. The cave was massive. deep underground and huge support beams. Nina left my shoulder to find a place to perch and sleep. Bats flapped around and there are so many vehicles and big machine toys down the hangar. We walked down the stairs and walked towards a work area with a man standing up on the second level of it. He heard the clicking of Diana's boots and turned in our direction. Bruce Wayne. I should've known.
"Who's this?" Bruce asked with a smile. He set down his tools and climbed down the latter.
"This is a good friend of mine. Her name is 'Little Creek'. She has lived on the Amazonian Island for about two years now. She doesn't speak so I can translate for her." Diana introduced. I smiled and reached out shaking his hand.
"I should've known you are the Batman." I signed and Diana translated as I went.
"How'd you figure?"
"I can see it in your eyes. Your past is full of pain. It takes one to know one, aaannnddd your like the richest person in Gotham. Gotta pay for your gadgets and your toys somehow." When Diana told him he laughed.
"Smart." He spoke. "Well Little Creek welcome. We are putting together an alliance, a group of people to help stop the end of the world. Right now it's just us three, but we have leads on three others."
"She knows about Steppenwolf and all of that, but she can't go out and help us find them." Diana spoke before he could ask, we both knew he was going to ask that question next.
"Why not?" Bruce asked confused.
"She's basically Mother Nature, and cities have no trees or nature around. two of them are in the city and Aquaman is far out of reach. She needs to be with nature, or she becomes very ill." Bruce looked at me and I nodded.
"Well she can stay here with Alfred while we go find Victor Stone and Barry Allen." I stopped and grabbed his arm. I threw my hand up getting there attention while I frantically signed.
"Wait. Barry Allen? Did he just say Barry Allen?"
"Yes he did. Do you know Barry?" Asked Diana and I nodded my head.
"He's my brother." Her eyes widened.
"What did she say?" Bruce asked a little taken back by her outburst.
"Barry Allen is her brother." Spoke Diana.
"Don't tell him about me just yet. He might not join if he knows I'm on the team. I had something happen in my life that.....scared me, and being in the city was killing me. I told him I had to leave and he understood then, but I don't know if he does now. It's been two years." I signed.
"She said just don't tell her brother she's on the team yet. Let him meet her when the team is together." I looked at her and signed a 'Thank you' for nit saying everything I signed to her.
"Well that's fine. There is plenty of woods and land for you to be around up top while we handle all of this. I can take you to Alfred, he actually knows sign language too, and you can hang with him while we sort all of this out. Your here for damage control for the battle so you don't have to meet with everyone just yet." I nodded with a smile and we were off.
Bruce and Diana lead me up another flight of stairs into his house. We walked into a room to see a man with salt and pepper colored har and stubble across his curious gaze that landed immediately on me. He was wearing brown slacks a long sleeve shirt with a grey vest over it, classy man. I stepped forward and smiled shaking his hand. He looked at Bruce and Diana before looking back to me.
"Hello, my name is Little Creek. I'm Mother Nature."Alfred gave an unsure look. I turned sideways so Bruce and Diana, along with Alfred watched and I closed my eyes taking a deep breath Before I held the palm of my hand out facing up. A bright light came from the center of my hand growing a white rose. There eyes widened with awe and I smiled. I used to do this with Barry all the time and he gave me the same look each time. I grabbed the rose from my hand and gave it to Alfred.
"For you good sir." I signed and he laughed.
"Why thank you my lady." He responded
"Alfred she's going to be staying here with you while we round up the rest of the team. That ok?" Bruce more so stated than asked.
"That's fine master Bruce. I think Little Creek and I will get along just fine." Bruce nodded and the two of them left.
"Are you hungry Little Creek?" I nodded and we headed to the kitchen to make food.
Alfred and I spent the whole afternoon and evening together. I told him of the home I lived in for the past two years and of my owl he had yet to meet. I even told him about my brother Barry, how my mom was murdered by a flash that flew around the living room and how no one believed Barry and I. We spent a while inside before I started feeling bad.
"Are you feeling alright miss Little Creek? Your very pale."
"I need to go outside for a bit. I can't be away from nature too long or I become ill."
Well lets put on our coats and head outside. You know, we have a guest house you could stay in for the night. It has a glass ceiling and two glass walls that face the woods so your close by." I nodded my head with a smile.
"That sounds lovely thank you very much."
We walked trough the trees my arm looped through his as we walked. He told me of his connection with the Wayne's and how his family has taken care of Bruce's for a long time. I told him about the prophecy I am to take part in.
"So lets see. You, Mother Nature, are with child and will help guard Earth and you are destined to wed the True King. King of what?" He was trying to put the pieces together confused and I smiled.
"King of the sea."
"How do you know that?" I stopped waling and pulled my hair off my neck to see a trident tattoo with a tentacle wrapped around it on the left side of my neck.
"It's our mark."
"Well it's beautiful" I smiled We walked back towards a pile of wood and we sat down on the trunk of the tree looking up at the stars. Alfred was cold so he showed me to my quarters which wasn't far from the house. It was a small studio type guest home for one person. a bed int the living area and a bathroom on the right. We said our goodnights and Alfred headed back to the house.
