Later I was in Douglas's room, he grabbed paper and pencils. "Wanna draw?" He sat down across from me, "Yeah! I'm gonna draw a dog." "Haha, you're funny." We sat there for a while, my dog kinda looked like a horse. "Danny I have a question." "Shoot" "Well at dinner and when I wasn't trying to match my peas to the color of Cal's hair I noticed you and Blaise were holding hands, why is that?" He scribbled a hand, he never looked up from his paper. "Well uh, me and Blaise are dating, and couples hold hands. Like your mom and your dad." "Oh okay. Wanna biscuit? I stole them from the kitchen." "Um sure." He then pulled out 10 fricken KFC looking biscuits from all of his pants pockets. "I'm wearing cargo shorts, lots of pockets." He picked one up and ate it. I picked one up and the door opened, "Hey dudes! Douglas can I borrow Danny for a bit?" Blaise asked in the door way. "Sure! Look at my hand!" "Nice dude! You're gonna be an artist some day." "Thanks! And I really hope so!" Douglas returned to his paper. I stood up and followed Blaise to his room. "So why'd you call me into your room?" I flopped on Blaise's bed. "I wanted to do this." He laid down on top of me and kissed me. Then he flopped onto the bed next to me. "I also wanted to talk to you." Blaise's words were low and tense. "About?" I perched my head on my hand laying sideways so I can look at him. "About why I've been acting so weird lately, like letting go of your hand and stuff." His words trailed off and I could tell he was nervous. "See uh- look. I haven't really told my family that I'm uh- well- uh-" "Bisexual?" I cut in. "Yeah, that. And I haven't told them that well I'm dating you." I gasped, "What?? You haven't told them??? It's been a whole year!!" I sat up in his bed and looked down at him. "Keep your voice down!" Blaise was whisper shouting at this point. "Okay yes I haven't told them, I've been able to keep it a secret for this long and honestly I'm really proud. But I just can't tell them. Like out of the blue you know? Like 'hey mom, dad, I'm bi and I'm dating my best friend. Cool? Cool.' ITS NOT GONNA WORK LIKE THAT." Blaise was shouting now, "Don't you dare shout at me, I'm not the one who's afraid to tell my parents, your mad at yourself and don't take it out on me." My words were laced with venom, you could tell they stung Blaise. I got up and walked to the door. "Babe, where are you going? I'm sorry I yelled at you. Come back, please?"
The door opened and it was Tonya. "Hey you guys okay? I heard Blaise shouting." I pushed past her and went down stairs. Blaise practically raced to catch up to me. "Hey, c'mon dude, come back we can talk about this." Blaise held me in place. "I don't wanna talk to you right now." I dipped down so I can get out of his grip. I walked to the door and twisted the handle. "Where are you going Danny? You just got here!" Blaise's mother said. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Duncan. I have to go, my mom wanted me back." I felt horrible lying to her, she had one of those faces where you can't lie to them. "Oh okay, it was nice having you." I opened the door and left. I started walking home. Everything was a blur, I was probably crying. Blaise has lied to me for a year, a whole year. I can't believe it. My phone buzzed as I was walking. It was Justy. 'Wanna go to the movies?' I stared at my phone, I quickly texted back 'I'd love to right now.' ~~~~~
