Charlotte's POV

I stormed out of my house and towards his front door. I don't even know why I'm mad about him not telling me that he lived next door.

But I am.

I knocked on his door a little more loudly then I wanted until Luke answered.

"Charlotte, what are you doing here." Luke asked scratching the back of his head nervously.

"Why didn't you tell me you lived next door?" I asked politely even though I was mad at him I wasn't going to show it. That'd be weird I just met him today.

" I - uh - I didn't think it mattered." He explained.

We didn't say anything we just stared at each other.

" does it matter?" He asked staring deep into my green eyes.

"No I -uh " I stuttered getting lost in his eyes.

"I was just curious about you know why you made an effort to not tell me." I said breaking the stare.

"What do you mean?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows together.

"I saw you walk down the street and then you waited till I was in my house then you ran back to yours"

"I saw you and don't bother denying it" I said pointing a finger at him almost laughing.

"well do you want to come in or?" He asked opening the door a little further.

"No I'm good, I have to go home and study" I stated pointing towards my house.

"Bye" I waved awkwardly and started walking away until I heard him close the door then I started running back to my house.

I bursted through my front door and ran upstairs. I wasn't lying when I said I had a lot of studying to do. I walked into my bedroom and sighed as I fell onto my bed. I sat up and crossed my legs as I hauled my books out of my bag to begin the long night of studying.

'It was now 11:30 pm and my mum was still not home. I decided to go to sleep as I had studied for almost 7 hours except when I had an hour break to have dinner, shower and watch TV.

I turned of my light and snuggled down into bed and let my body drift into darkness.

I awoke to the annoying sound of my alarm clock I groaned as I turned to shut it off. It was now 7:00 am, I had half and hour to get ready.

I sighed as I got out of bed and padded to my dresser. I take my showers at night so it's not so much of a rush in the morning. I picked out a floral dress and a creme cardigan on top. I wore my flats and my small engraved necklace around my neck. I left my hair out but twisted a piece and pinned it back just to add a little bit more of a style you could say. I applied minimal makeup and I was ready to go.

I finished packing my bag for the day and headed downstairs to see my mother hovering over the stove stirring something in a big pot.

"Hey mum." I said in a chirpy voice.

"Hey sweetie."

"Where were you last night."

"Well my meeting ran late and there was a lot of traffic."

"Ok cool I gotta go." I stated grabbing a banana out of the bowl.

I walked onto the footpath and began to walk to school. I just walked past Luke's house when I heard his door close. I turned to find him walking slowly behind me.

"Hey" I shouted so he could hear.

"Hi" he yelled. I stood there in my same spot waiting for him to catch up.

"How slow do you walk?" I asked when he finally caught up to me.

" I don't walk slow, you just walk fast." He smirked.

" We'll sorry I don't want to be late for school."

"Why do you care so much."

"What do you mean?"

"Why do you care so much about school?"

"Because I have big plans."

"What plans?"

"Well if you must know I'm going to Harvard I've been saving since I was little."

"Okay." he said amused

"What?" I said laughing slightly.

"You seem so sure of your plans."

"What's so bad about having plans?"

"Well plans don't always turn out how they you know plan."

" I know but mine will." I sighed.

We walked in silence but it wasn't awkward it was almost comfortable.

We made it to school on time and soon parted ways.
