"Irene.. Hey.." I awkwardly said, I'm honestly disappointed that she's here.

I mean, I should've declined Mrs. Kim's invitation if she just mentioned that Tae's girlfriend was coming.

Imagine us being on the same table while Irene and Tae are being mushy with each other and I'm just there eating silently...

I know, it's awkward.

But despite the disappointment that I felt, I gave my best to smile without looking like a rat.

"Come in, they're all inside." She said smiling very wide at me, I feel a bit uneasy.

I let myself walk inside straightaway through the living room, since I've been here a few times and I already know where to go.

With Irene trailing behind me in the living room, there I saw Taehyung and his dad together with Youngjae, Tae's eight year old brother.

"Good evening, Mr. Kim." I greeted and he smiled while nodding his head at me, showing an approach.

When Youngjae saw me, he stood up and immediately hugged me while squealing my name.

"Kookie Hyung!" He said grinning.

"Hey Youngjae-ah.. Did you missed me?" I asked looking at him.

He pouted and nodded his head. "My hyung won't let me play video games with him." He stated and glared at Taehyung's direction, and I looked too.

That made Tae laugh at him. "Pfft, What? It's not suitable for his age you know." He said defensively.

I shook my head and turned my gaze upon Youngjae. "Don't worry, I'll play with you later. But for now, where's your mommy?" I asked smiling.

"She's in the kitchen, cooking something for dinner. Are you gonna help her?" He asked back after answering my question.

"Well, yeah." I grinned and he jumped excitedly. "I'm gonna go there okay?" He nodded his head and I headed to the kitchen to see Mrs. Kim slicing some spices.

When she noticed me, she quickly gestured me to come and help her. So I did.

"I'm glad you came, Jungkook-ah." She stated, smiling genuinely at me.

"Well, I missed cooking with you Mrs. Kim." I said as a reply.

"Oh god, how many times do I have to tell you, stop calling me that. It's so formal." She rolled her eyes and smiled.

We we're chatting and randomly talking with stuff when Irene walked in, making me stop from what I'm doing for a second.

"Uhm, do you guys need help?" She said awkwardly.

"Oh, you're just in time. Can you stir this for me, please? " Mrs. Kim asked, looking at Irene's direction.

"Of course." She smiled and immediately ran towards the other's direction. "Thank you, I'll be quick I promise." Mrs. Kim replied and hurriedly walk outside the kitchen.

The atmosphere became silent for a moment. None of us dared to speak up, afraid that it might not turn that well.

She just decided to speak up when the soup that is being cooked on the stove was already boiling. "Uhm, Jungkook? Am I doing this right?" She asked skeptically.

I head towards the stove and saw that it was already boiling.

"Oh gosh, I didn't know it was meant to be turned off." She said, half surprised.

"It's okay, you're doing good." I smiled, reassuring her.

"Sorry, I'm not really used at doing stuffs like this. My mom never let me cook at home." She explained, looking as if she was a bit ashamed telling it.

"Oh.." I whispered softly as I turn it off.

After that incident the atmosphere regained its silence again, giving me goose bumps and shivers down my spine in some kind of an uneasy way...

A few a moments passed and I was ready to put the spices on to what dish I'm gonna cook, so I let her sit near the counter table for a while.

She sat there watching me cook. To be honest, it was uncomfortable but I just let her do so. After all, she's not doing any harm and she seems really fascinated at what I'm doing as if she only saw it for the first time.

'I think she doesn't really do cooking even once..'

"So uhm... Do you wanna hang out with them outside for a while? This would actually take a while." I told her and she immediately shook her head in response.

"It's fine. I'm pretty amused at your skills, knowing that you're a boy and you can cook well." She stated.

"W-well, thanks.." Was all I could reply.

"Welcome." She smiled. "So uhm, how long have you been Taetae's best friend?" She asked all of a sudden, attempting to open up a conversation.

"Uh.. Almost two years I guess? We weren't close back in our junior years." I answered.

"That's quite long, isn't it? I wish I've known Taetae that long too." She retorted.

I honestly don't know what to reply next. It was like someone cut my tongue out. But fortunately, Irene speak up again.

"You know, at first I thought you and Tae were together." I almost choked at her statement.

And, no. It wasn't so fortunate after all.

"E-excuse me??" I asked, regaining the smile on my face that has been gone for like second.

"I thought you two were together at first." She chuckled at the thought.

"I always see the two of you together at hallways, at lunch. And I've heard that you're gay, so you know, I've jumped into conclusions. And that's when I've heard that Taetae's with Jennie. So that kinda messed up my conclusion." And then she just giggled.

'Wow, what a ridiculous conclusion that is..'

"I-i don't actually know what to say about that." I said, shaking my head slightly.

And she just laughed. "Sorry, my way of thinking is really off the hook sometimes."

"Nah, that's okay. I'm like that sometimes." I smiled reassuringly, realizing that she's not that bad after all.

"Thank you." Her wide grin showed off. "But to be honest, you and Tae actually look good together." I looked at her, slightly shook again.

"Oh please--"

"No it's true.. You look really good together, that it makes me envy sometimes."
