"Uwahh! These are so good, Layla-chan!" You pull the cupcake with blue and pink icing from your lips, talking with a full mouth.
"I know right? My sister brought them for me this morning while i was walking to school..." She frowns with a bit of anger in her eyes and stands up from the lunch table. "She pulled up right next to me in her NEW CAR and gave me the cupcakes with a wink. Her boyfriend was in the car too!" She clenches her fists.
Oddly enough, Layla and her sister shared the same birth date despite being years apart in age. (Me, 2 of my other sisters, and uncle were born on the 15th LOL but my uncle and i actually have the same birthday). Every year people had to deal with her jealousy towards her sister, saying that she didn't get good enough presents though it was what she asked for.
You sweat drop after licking the sweet and fluffy icing off your mouth. "Hm...we she can't possibly have a friend better than me..." Your attempt to cheer Layla works and she laughs as a result.
She wipes a tear of happiness from her eye after she finishes laughing, "of course!"
Riya suddenly pops up from behind you, panting. "Where are the cupcakes?!"
Layla smiles and hands her one. "You could at least say happy birthday again before asking." She pouts while Riya's eyes glitter as she takes the cupcake from Layla's hand.
"H-happy birthday..."Her mouth waters and quickly stuffs the cupcake into her mouth. "Mmmmm~!"
Riya's parents rarely buy sweets for their house so she has to suffer until theres a birthday or some sort of celebration. Though she doesn't seem it, she has a huge sweet-tooth.
"Agh, i really need to sneak some cookies in your house or something..." Layla hands Riya a box containing 3 chocolate cupcakes with multicolored icing in it.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY!" Riya gently takes the box, not wanting to mess up the perfect cupcakes that she'd save for later.
"Ah, which reminds me..." You lean over to open your bag, pulling out a small box with pink flower covered paper wrapped around it. "Here's your present, Layla-chan, i hope you like it!"
She takes the box that you hand to her with a smile on her face. "I know i will, you always give the best presents."
Layla begins to pull back the wrapping paper carefully but eager to see what was inside. After taking all of the paper off an setting it aside, she opens a white box to see a sapphire birthstone bracelet.
"Agh! It's so pretty, thank you Hikari-chan!"
"Of course!"
Riya decides to help Layla with her bracelet and starts whining about how she wanted one too. Layla only teases her and says that she'd have to wait until next year in March to get hers, which was a while away because it was only September.
