Finally spring break! I wanted this to be longer but... I was struggling with how to end this anyways so I just ended it. I'm still trying to figure out how I want the main characters story to be with her aunt and why she lives with her. I'm not getting to many ideas tho so the next chapter might take some time. If I have ideas of some sort, you can text me or contact me on my instagram ( @)

"Um...thanks for helping me, Shinsō-kun."Shinsō and you were on your way to your house, carrying the groceries you had bought for your aunt. He was walking on the outside of the sidewalk while you were on the inside. You occasionally stepped in puddles caused from the earlier storm, making your shoes wet, but the smell of rain made you happy.
Despite Shinsō still being a little suspicious of your aunt being sick, he kept to himself.
"Eh, I was walking home after wondering around a little. It's getting dark out, you shouldn't be out once the sun goes down, idiot." He scolds which makes you giggle.
"Well that's nice of you to care!" You yawn and wipe one of your tears away. "Thanks for helping anyways."
He nods and its silent again. All there was were the sounds of cars passing by and people walking on the other side of the road.
"So...did you have fun looking around?" You ask, trying to break the ice. "What about food? Did you try the new place selling-"
"You know, you ask a lot of questions." An irk mark forms on his forehead as he closes his eyes and he sighs into the fresh dewey air.
"Well, why don't you ask a question then?"
"Hm, I supposed i'd like to know if the 'nicest girl at school' really is the nicest."
"What do you mean?" You ask, curiously. Pondering to yourself, you wondered if this question had something to do with-
"Were you hiding something or is your aunt really sick?" He peers over his shoulder at you with a raised eye brow, knowing that your answer would interest him. Shinsō felt a little desperate to discover that this 'goodie-two-shoes' thing was just an act. Well that was if it really was just an act.
"U-um..." Trying to cover up your lie quickly, you frantically look around to see if there was anything that would give you a way to change the conversation.
"Ah look! A puddle!" You quickly stand over the puddle of water on the street, pointing at it from the sidewalk.
Shinsō heard tires splashing water out the way and notices an incoming car. It was coming towards you both, about to pass. He quickly blocks you as the car proceeds past and splashes cold, dirty water on the back of his uniform.
Though you knew this scenario was partly your fault, you, however felt your heart beat a little faster after he made contact.
"Did you get wet?" Shinsō questions as his eyes follow in the direction of the disappearing vehicle. "I think I blocked most of the water..."
"N-no I think i'm fine..." You look up to see Shinsō looking away, failing to see the little amount of red coating his cheeks. Water drops traveled down his lilac colored hair and fell on his already wet uniform and face.
It was then his turn to observe the closeness of you and him. His arms were wrapped around your petite self as your hands clutched his uniform, groceries still in hand.
"S-sorry..." He let go of you and you let go too, awkwardly.
~~~
"What was that...?" You ask yourself as you do your nightly routine of brushing your teeth before bed.
Ever since Shinsō blocked you from being splashed, you've had this warm feeling whenever you thought about him. The funny thing was that you thought about it a lot, the scene replaying over and over in your head.
After what happened, Shinsō walked you home in silence. When you got to your house, you said your thanks and he left before your Aunt could say hi.
You look at yourself in the mirror, seeing that you cheeks have turned a bright red.
"Aargh!" You splash water on your face and then run to your bed, flopping on it and putting your face in the pillow.
"Go to sleep, (Y/n). Go to sleep."
