Chapter 11 : Sunday, Memorial, You ready,

(Carter P.o.v)

Did you tell your mom you were coming with me to my father's gravesite (sapphire speaks) I told her and she agreed to let me come with you (gets in car) put your seatbelt on (starts driving) it's always better to be safe then sorry .

(Sapphire speaks) I'm happy I met you I can tell your good person, who has a good heart (Carter speaks) I'm glad you feel that way and maybe you'll see my feelings for you have grown alot stronger (sapphire speaks) maybe I will but What's one thing that helps you decide you can trust someone?

(Carter speaks) what's makes you ask that question (sapphire speaks) I don't have a reason for asking but maybe I just want to know where your head's at ? (Carter speaks) spending time with a person getting to know them on a deeper level .

(Sapphire speaks) how do you know if you can trust me (Carter speaks) It's just a feeling and I'm really good at connecting with honest people especially people with character and I feel like your one of those people.

(Sapphire speaks) What do you believe in, generally or faith-wise? (Carter speaks ) I believe in god because he opened doors for me that other people tried to shut he's blessed me in many ways and I have faith in him even when I don't understand his plan but it's not always about seeing it's About believing.

(Sapphire speaks ) do you think vulnerability brings people together or tears them apart (Carter speaks) it depends on the situation there has to be a mutual respect between the two and if not the other person will just tak advantage of the situation .

Nineteen minutes later

We arrived at the cemetery I was unsure of myself but I made the right decision and got rid of the after thoughts (sapphire speaks) I know this is alot to handle but will you be alright (Carter speaks) I'll be fine I can handle it (walks to headstone) dad, I'm sorry I wish things had been different for us ,I can admit ,I remember very little .

But what I do remember is, how your face would light up !whenever you came home from work after a long trip, you would hug mom so tight and tell her how much you loved her and say where's my little man , grab me ,kiss me and toss me in the air putting me on your shoulders . Mom would allways say Carter let dad relax . Me crying hoping I can get some time before your next shift or important engagement.

But my time never came it was always your career then mom and maybe me I know you had strong work ethics but all the vacation times you could've spent with us you chose your career, as if we didn't matter but I Get it you had to take care of your family, but I still feel resentful I feel like I missed out on alot, now I can only imagine But what I did learn from this situation is to be there for my future family, and not to take anything for granted, I love you dad.

(Carter speaks) Come on let's go I'm okay now (grabs her hand) and walks to the car (Sapphire speaks) wait, I see my father's name on a headstone (Carter speaks) your father isn't the only one with that name come on (starts driving) to her house.

Sixteen minutes later

(Carter speaks) thanks, for coming with me it meant alot (sapphire speaks) are you alright, I want you to know I'm here for you
don't ever feel like your in this alone because you have me, I'm only a phone call away (Carter speaks) I know sweetheart (grabs her face kisses her lips) I'll see you at school, get some rest babygirl.
