Chapter 9

Katniss POV

I woke up next day so happy, yesterday was amazing; after James got me Happy we walked to my house and he waited for me to get ready for our date. He took me to watch a movie at the cinema then we went to a restaurant. It was a simple date but it meant so much to me and it came in the right time. I needed it badly.

I reached for my mobile as Happy came running to me, she jumped on my bed and snuggled with me. I unlocked my mobile and found that I don’t have any messages from Jamie which is weird. He always sends me a morning texts, maybe he is not up yet, I shrug and send him a message saying how happy I am and how much I love him. I wanna be the first thing he wake up on in the morning.

I headed to the bathroom; did my business and took a shower. Once I was done I headed back to my room, brushed my hair and choose an outfit for today, I settled on a knee long floral dress, I put it on. I decided to leave my hair straight so I left it as it is and put on some eyeliner; actually I don’t like putting on makeup only black eyeliner and lip gloss. I searched for the pair of sandals I wear with this outfit, I put them on once I found them and took one last look to check my outfit is good.

Once I was done I headed to the kitchen where mom was preparing us breakfast.  “Morning mommy”

“Morning baby” she kissed my forehead, “You look happy”

I nodded and smile “Yesterday was soooo cute, I’m really lucky to have him”

“Yes you are baby”

“How are you feeling and how is the baby”

She rubbed her hands in circles on her small bump “Baby is doing great” she gave me a small smile

“What about his mother?” I said referring to her

“Been better” she avoided looking to me, so I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her in a hug

“Everything will be fine mom, isn’t that what you taught me?”

“I don’t believe in that anymore, nothing is fine Katy. I feel like I lost everything. What happened to us katy, where is the happy famiy?”

“No mom, you are not the one who lost everything, it’s him, he lost his family, he lost the most beautiful soul in earth which is you. I know I’m not supposed to say this but he is stupid, he is the one who pushed us away for nothing, you tried so hard to keep this family together but he didn’t want it, all he did is take without given and actually I can’t believe how you handled all of that. You are the strongest woman I know mom. You are my role model mommy.” Tears started to run down both of our cheeks. “I will never leave you mom, I will always be there for you and the baby no matter what. I love you so much and I can’t imagine a day without your beautiful smile”

She gave me a weak smile and said “I love you so much Katy. I’m proud to be your mommy”
