Miserable nights p.1

"Officer! A man is shot in Margery Street 57-Y. Please come quick"
"We're on our way ma'am"

"Caleb Rivers is reported to be charged for shooting Tobias Cavanaugh today at Margery Street and other crimes including domestic violence on his wife Spencer Hastings. Rivers was arrested on the spot"

"Ms. Hastings! He lost a lot of blood. We need to do a surgery immediately"
"Please do whatever you can to save him. Please!" She couldn't control her tears.
"We're trying our best. Just hope for the best and if you want to visit him before we take him into surgery..-"
"Yeah I..I need to. Thanks!" She ran into his room.
She held his hand tightly with tears in her eyes.

"Won't you wake up for me? Please Toby. Please..... You're the only good thing that ever happened to me. Please don't go. Please! I..I love you Toby" She began to cry harder.
"Ms. Hastings we're shifting him to the operation theater. Please wait outside"
She nodded and left the room.

Spencer's P.O.V

What have I done?I shouldn't have been drunk that night. I shouldn't have talked to him. I shouldn't have dragged him into my miserable and messy life. I shouldn't have let him help me. I shouldn't have let him fall in love with me. I dragged him into this. I wanted someone to for my loneliness and to be with me in the miserable nights I slept alone without Caleb when he used to cheat on me with someone else and I destroyed him. I destroyed everything he ever had. Now all I have is his memories. The memories that'll haunt me till death. Because I destroyed the only man I ever loved. Toby Cavanaugh.

"Spencer honey!" Caleb said.
"Yes"
"I'll be working late tonight"
"Ok..ay"
"You seem off...What happened?"
"Nothing"
"Oh..okay. Then I'll see you tonight then!"
"Yeah..bye!"
"Bye? Won't you give a goodbye kiss to your husband honey?"
"Oh..yeah" She faked her expressions.
He went over to her and kissed her passionately or what he thought it was because she never felt anything like that being intimate with him.
"Bye baby"
"Bye" She faked a smile.
He left the house and she sat on the sofa looking forward to the long miserable day ahead of her when he came back.
"Oh honey... I forgot to tell you something"
"Yeah what?"
"umm.. Do you remember Toby?"
"Toby... Who? No!"
"The one I told you about...my best friend.. He's coming over tonight. He'll be with us for the rest of the month"
"Oh..okay!"
"Actually he's here for his business meetings for a month and he wanted to visit so I offered him to stay here because you know we don't usually have any guests so it'll be fun with him"
"Yeah"
"He'll be over tonight before I come home... Take care of him.. He's my best buddy"
"Yeah I will!"
"Thanks honey! Bye"
"Bye"
He left again.
*Great! Now I have to deal with his ass friends too* she thought to herself.
She went to groceries and made arrangements for dinner. Once all was done she sat on the dining table waiting for the possible guest thinking about her miserable housewife life and her cheater husband when the door bell rang.
*opens the door*
"Hi! You must be Spencer. Right?" A blonde, blue eyed beautiful man said smiling.
She couldn't control herself and smiled like an idiot.
"Yes! You must be Toby?"
"Yes" He smiled back.
"Come in Toby"
"Thanks! Is..Is Caleb here yet?"
"Oh no! He's working late"
"Oh so I won't be meeting him till Saturday I guess"
"Saturday?!"
"Yeah. Actually I'm busy in some meetings for the rest of the week"
"Aren't you staying here?"
"Oh no. Did Caleb told you that?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh no!I'll be staying in the hotel"
"Oh..... You hungry? Dinner's ready"
"Sure. It's been a long flight"
"Go freshen up then"
"Thanks!"

After hours and hours of laughing and talking she realized she never laughed this much. She felt good around him. She felt free! A feeling she never had before, not with Caleb, not with anyone else.

"So tell me about yourself Spencer!"
"It's not much to tell"
"This can't be true. There must be something. You're an interesting lady after all"
"Really?" She asked smiling.
"Yeah.. I mean there must be something.. Tell me about your parents and stuff"
"Parents?" She stopped on this word staring at the wine glass in front of her.
"They..they passed away in an..an accident.. The..the same accident that happened with Caleb's parents"
"Oh..I..I'm sorry..I didn't knew about that"
"It's...okay...Tell me about yourself"she said changing the subject.
"Me? umm... I..I have my mom and I had a girlfriend but we broke up a few days ago and that's it"
"Oh"
There was a long pause when Spencer spoke again.
"I..I think you should stay here"
"Oh come on. I..I don't wanna invade anyone's privacy"
"Oh it's not like that. Believe me we'll be very happy if you stay with us. I promise"
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh..okay then I'll stay"
"Great! Do you want anything else. Water? Or-"
"Oh no no thanks!" He smiled at her while eating.

And it started with a smile.. That one damned smile (Spencer Baker😂)
