Robbie and I met two weeks ago. He was at Starbucks, trying to satisfy his addiction to the place. I was going in to get a small drink and be on my way. But, by some weird force of gravity, his coffee spilled all over me. Now being that I was headed for school that morning, I went emotional. Broke down crying and went into the bathroom, trying to see if I could get the coffee out. Robbie, being a gentleman, came into the bathroom and calmed me down. My shirt was ruined, so he gave me his jacket to wear. I thanked him and he asked where I was headed. That was my first day at a private high school. He told me that he was a student there and that I could return it whenever. He offered me a ride, I was originally planning to walk.
Now, since that day, we were friends. We have 5 out of 7 classes together and his friends were nice to me. Him and his friends were surprised that I was only 16, because they're all seniors. But they eventually got over it. They even invited me to a few parties. Thankfully, Robbie warned me which parties would have alcohol. We usually discuss parties at lunch. Today we sat out in the courtyard to eat. Well I did, he just came out and ate with me.
"Hey Robbie. My parents agreed to let me got to the Wilson's party tonight."
He gave me a look of disbelief,
"Really?"
"Yeah, and they're OK with me staying out late. Since there won't be alcohol at this party. Plus, they said they trust me so I'm not waisting to moment."
"It's still gonna be crazy."
"I know, I know. But I am responsible for my age. Is the beautiful and talented Courtney gonna be there?"
Courtney is Robbie's girlfriend. They've been dating for about two months. Robbie was shaking his head,
"Actually, no, she and I are on a break."
My jaw dropped,
"What? Are you alright? When did this happen?"
Robbie avoided eye contact,
"Last night. I'm fine though, seriously. She and I haven't been too close anyway lately, it was only a matter of time."
"So, is it like official? Cause you know when a girl says 'they need a break' or 'we need go take a break' there is a difference."
"Oh, it's really over trust me. I don't want to be with her anymore than her other exes."
"Well, dang man. I thought you really liked her. Anywho, it's over and done. I gotta go to class and so do you, so let's go."
************************************The Party
The party was packed, thankfully, the house wasn't too close to any neighbors. Music was blasting rock and metal. Robbie hasn't shown up yet, but I was still partying. There was no alcohol but that didn't stop some people from acting like they were drunk. I noticed a group of three guys eyeing me. They were dressed as emo punk dudes. I know one of them. He's a good aquantance of mine. Always suggesting I hang out more with him and his friends.
"Hey Jack." I said as I approach them. Him and his friends started chatting about music and a few bands we all planned on seeing in concert in a few weeks.
"Seriously, you should come with us. We'll even invite Robbie and his friends." Jack suggested.
"You know they aren't even into this band. I plan on going with you and your friend bye not as a date."
"Why not?
"I don't date." I said as I walked away and to the snack table. A familiar british voice awaited my arrival.
